Since they're getting the parking tickets while driving rental cars under someone else's name, they probably aren't officially their tickets.

Whoever helped set this up (boosters, I assume) have this system down so that when questions are asked, they can keep as few people implicated as possible and deny this is a systematic approach to skirting the rules.

The more I look at this, the more it appears that the NCAA is going to use this as the impetus for changing their rules against paying players. The NCAA makes s much money off of UNC basketball that it can't afford to bring down the proper sanctions on the school. In all rights, they should consider the football probation to have been violated since it hinged on a failure to monitor social media activities, and what, exactly do we have at this point? However, if they go throu with that, people will scream bloody murder that the football team got punished for the actions of the basketball team. Likewise, the proper punishment for the basketball team would effectively mean a death penalty, as you would be disqualifying the entire starting lineup.

What the NCAA will end up doing is saying "this just proves we need to change the rules", and they will do so. Oh, and they'll also then say that it wouldn't be fair to punish UNC for breaking bad rules, and UNC will skate on decades of cheating.

Think the NCAA is scared to push UNC because UNC has a solid legal team and I imagine they'd be likely to challenge the NCAA to any sanctions passed down that they deemed too harsh(in this case, anything involving losing championships or post-season bans for basketball).

Really think the NCAA and UNC will come to terms on throwing PJ under the bus, let him miss the season and they'll leave it at that. NCAA says he broke rules, UNC says he was a rogue player and didn't live up to the "UNC way".

I just hope it is something legitimate. The whole 9 parking tickets on UNC campus was regarded as huge but I don't really think it was anything that could be used against them effectively.
