I don't know where to start with this show. I hate how everyone is so mesmerized and drawn to Ray. In episode 2 the tranny talked to Ray for 30 seconds and all of a sudden he/she "wants to tell him everything". Then the kids who JUST met their grandfather treat him like a God. The wife who has never met the man trusts him enough to pull her kids out of school to go on a day trip with him even after being told repeatedly how awful of a human being he is by Ray. THEN she asks the grandfather why Ray hates him so much. You are telling me that after how many years of marriage this topic never came up? Come on. This show is so stupid on so many levels.

It's only two episodes in and I think it's a deep show. I see ray and mickey differently. I see it both being these irresistible characters that both men and women are drawn to.

Even the dude with the broken hand was like "he's hot, isn't he?" when talking to seizure girl. It's the classic women want him and men want to be him.

I like that the show is set in the present with this dark fixer shit. He's a bad mother fucker yet can empathize.

My problem with the show is that nothing Ray and Mickey do MAKES them iirresistible. They just show up places and people melt. Say what you want about Californication, but at least it seemed plausible that an alcoholic good looking wise ass author who is really charming would be able to reel in any chick he talked to and could steal any guy's wife or girlfriend. Neither of the two characters in the show have done anything to convince me that they can attract as much attention as they do.

was he really going to the cops?

he was stalking the girl which would put in him in huge shit with law. Ray gave him an alternative and essentially put him on fixers probation. I assume ray then killed the guy when he showed back up on seizure girls doorstep and then ray washing the baseball bat, etc.

the tranny was blackmailing a movie star. was he going to cops after Ray's home invasion? another felon with video proof and text messages who is also a prostitute.

i, however, cannot figure why the movie producer guy didnt press charges. that one baffles me.

he has his partner beat everyone up with no repercussions. he also steals every electronic device from that place the transsexual is living in, with a bunch of witnesses.

similarly the opening for the second episode shows him cleaning blood off the bat he used in in the first to bash a dudes skull in (see he can get away with anything), and this bat is in his apartment covered in blood under his bed. like, he wouldn't have already cleaned off the bat instead of smearing DNA evidence all over his pad? i realize they just wanted to have a shot of him doing that while surveying the LA skyline, but it felt pretty lame to me.

it's also annoying that their father did something SO TERRIBLE that his son pretty much wants to kill him, but they won't say what he did, instead having ray say shit like "you don't know the whole story" etc whenever it comes up. that also seems lame.


whining aside, i will continue to watch the show. there are certainly many things i like about it.

As much as I defend ray's character I was really annoyed when his wife went back to get his suits from donation after that big fight. When she went back I feel that fell inline with y'all's gripes

Micky is fucking hilarious tho. I loved library and therapy scenes were great.

This is turning out to be a really strong show. That was a really good episode, my wife who has only seen part of two other episodes was hooked and she started the episode halfway in.

I saw Mickey killing that guy coming but I was expecting him to hit him with some kind of object to go with the guy saying "Who's got the stick now"

Will be interesting to see how it plays out with the evidence being submitted on the FBI guy. Will it lead back to Ray? Mickey should have taken the photos with him.

AHAHA, this show is still good to me.

They're so dysfunctional that it feels surreal at times...like just slightly bizarre...sort of in an annoying way, but then Mickey pops up and says something hilarious, and it's all good.

It bothers me that there's a blatant disregard to any sort of forensic evidence. Like mickey shooting the cop. Ray baseball batting that dude, etc. Burning shit down. Walking into the house where the parents were dead.

This show has gotten progressively better IMO. I feel like they could do 10 more episodes and still have plenty of content just from the story lines that have been developed.
