So we're paying for the digital cable Internet bundle for $60/month with cable and 50/12 Internet. The internet is great but the cable box only has RCA out. What am I supposed to do with this?! I didn't know they still gave out boxes without an HDMI or component out.

Actually with Comcast its standard if you DO get the HD package. You don't get an hd capable stb with the package, only a shit non-hd box. Unless you get in on some promo deal, the hd box is like 8 bucks more a month, 17 for the hd DVR box.

After dealing with them for about a year I have decided Comcast is absolute garbage. The second time they raised my rate (if you go no-contract they'll jack you up every 6 months), I called to complain and the rep didn't even care to keep my business and suggested "why don't you go with a lower-feature plan" when I complained about the price.

Switching to FiOS in the next few days, Comcast can suck it.

comcast doesn't advertise this but you can get a single cable card for free and each additional is like $2.50/month, instead of paying for a box/dvr. take the cable card and put it in a tivo series 3 or newer and you can watch in hd for free. you'll have to pay if you want the dvr to work

^^I've had Comcast for 6 years and I respectfully disagree. I pay the same today that I have for nearly 5 years. Every 6 months when my current promo ends, I call them and negotiate a new rate.

The times when they wouldn't play ball I just told them to cancel the TV and put me on internet only, then called back a week later and got my promo rate again.

I've been a cable card user for almost 4 years so I haven't had to deal with the box bullshit in forever (own my own modem as well). Unfortunately neither FiOS or U-Verse are available in my neighborhood, so I can't switch to one of them but honestly I dont have any beef with Comcast.
