Firms generally don't issue equity when they are about to be acquired or want to be acquired.

Did anyone who uses Scottrade have a large, quick spike in their account(s) a few weeks ago? Both of my accounts had a $20-30k spike for what looks like a day that I can't figure out.

bought a shit load of shares of ONCS (sister company of INO that uses the same delivery platform) a few months ago at like 0.28, but only held it for a day or two and decided to get back into INO with that....it ran up around 0.80 yesterday

well at least you're not holding JC Penny stock anymore bc they suck

I'm thinking INO will get below 3 buck dollars early next week, I'm probably gonna accumulate a pretty good amount of shares from this...the volume has been drying up except after the dillution announcement, but that's helping drive it down a good bit also

it'll probably go right back to near $4 again within the next few months

PSMI is working out pretty well thus far...I bought in @ 5.48. There was some recent insider buying too.

Does anyone have thoughts on LTRX?

i've pretty much counted out INO getting back sub-$3...still waiting on an entry point though

I think ~$3.25 would be my break-even point, hoping for no news anytime soon so it will get to there at least

Question on commission. Can I buy more than one different stocks example; 10 GOOG, 10 FB, 23 MSFT and pay 1 commission price at once or do I have to pay 3 commission price?

nah...I've still got around 1/3 of the shares that I had before I started selling a couple of weeks ago

I'm pretty pissed that I sold now because it's looking like I will probably lose around 1,000 shares trying to play that run, because I still plan on getting back in fully before their Phase 2 results are released

LMAO...I hadn't even look at the chart since this post until today. It almost hit $1 a couple of days after that post. It's back to around $0.80 for now, but fuck me. If INO's clinical results come back good in a couple of months, ONCS's price will definitely reflect that as well. It's still pretty cheap right now and has potential...maybe shoulda held onto that in hindsight. Probably has better short term 10 bagger potential, but may be a little more risky I think.

If I were to get back in fully at the current price, I'd lose ~2,000 shares (from where I was before I started selling)...plus I owe quite a bit in short term cap gains taxes from the sell off

It was a litte bit of a failure, but I can't complain because I'm up a pretty considerable amount

I will probably buy if/when it gets to around 3.40-3.50ish again

You mean...you put your shares somewhere and you can't find them? You lost your keyboard and your phone and can't have your broker buy new shares? It's obvious as hell you don't have a fucking clue what you are doing. When this market finally exhausts these biotech stocks are going to get crushed first. Please keep posting while that happens because your stupidity feeds me.

I wish I had cash to pick up MagicJack (CALL) a few months ago when I started watching it...it was in the 11s then; low 20s now. I've started watching Sonus Networks (SONS) to see where it'll go.

Too expensive, in my opinion.

I made >1000% on NFLX a few years ago, selling when I thought the P/Es had ascended into the retardosphere. It tanked shortly thereafter when they fumbled on changing their rate plans.

I wish I'd bought back in after it tanked, because it obviously has ran WAAAY back up again. Now, again sitting on a 230 P/E, they're talking about raising rates again, and now with more substantial competition (albeit with cord-cutting and streaming in general continuing to gain momentum).

I could be wrong, you could make money (or wish you'd bought in). The risk vs potential reward just isn't there, though, in my semi-informed opinion.

That said, I've had tomorrow marked on my calendar literally for months as the day that my cable contract is finally up, so I can call those motherfuckers and go internet only without incurring a penalty, so...maybe there are enough more people like me and not enough upcoming pressure from Amazon or maybe Google (and other players like Hulu). From what I've read, Apple has scaled back their ambitions for next-gen AppleTV due to industry resistance. I wouldn't be shocked if once they figure out how to pull the right strings and get the right things lined up, they jump in as a juggernaut.

I mean, shit let me just pontificate on and on like a blind faggot at a hot dog eating contest about how much I made on a stock last year.

i vote we just ignore the penny stock posts and get this thread back on track - i'm new to the whole stock market game and have been playing around a little bit

i don't follow any industry except technology although i bought a little LNG and CMCSA (sort of tech) - the rest is all technology stocks

not planning to buy / sell frequently - typically buying about $1000-1500 each time when i buy a stock and plan to hold long term - having a hard time selling a loser right now (down just $165 on it) that i think will possibly go lower but willing to ride it out and see

<WARNING INO GAMBLING POST>

3.82 Friday, steadily drops since to 3.07 this morning, then a rally after lunch today back up to 3.64

I had used up all of my powder Tuesday and got back in at 3.37...I didn't take as much of a hit as I thought, although it would have been pretty nice to wait like 2 hours after I did buy lol

Is this BIOTECH selloff going to stop or keep going? I own a fund that has been on fire the last few years but has gotten crushed the last few weeks. I have cash to spend in my IRA and I just cant figure out if I need to get out of BIO for a while or use the downturn as an excuse to buy more of the fund and trust that the fund will get back on a winning run?

vague post, maybe....but my point is: BIOTECH WTF IS GOING ON WITH IT THE REST OF THE YEAR??

What is your time frame? If you're holding for longer term then you missed your opportunity to cash out and reenter at better prices. After a fall this far you're likely better off just hanging on to it for now assuming you have a longer time horizon. This advice is null and void if some type of contagion effects the entire market which would cause the biotechs to get hit harder first. In lieu of that, this is likely nothing more than a market that got a little ahead of itself resetting it's sentiment probably in preparation for another move higher.

yea i realized too late that i missed out on a sale earlier. i have been sick and/or out of town a lot lately and wasnt keeping a close eye on things. yes, it is a long term account so i am not terribly worried that it wont recover. just not sure how much lower it may go now, or if it has bottomed out and i can go ahead and buy more so that when it does recover, i get back in the black faster
