I don't buy that that is a "high res shot" like they are claiming.

It's more like a "Spider-Man's effects aren't finished so here's one frame showing what he will look like" shot.

Either way, the Amazing Spiderman movies had the costume right at least.

This may be more realistic, but I mean I hope they evolve it over time as Underoos and Tony know each other longer.

Hmm, Crossbones at the 1:56 mark punching the shit out of Cap. Looks like they're bringing in a lot of the comic book story arc.

2:06 mark shows Cap, Falcon, Witch, Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, and AntMan on one side against Iron Man, Widow, Black Panther, War Machine, and Vision...outside of a commercial airport? I'm having trouble believing Hawk/Widow are on opposite sides, same with Witch and Vision. Could be a random assortment to throw us off but if that's the grouping it means a lot of side stories with regular partners splitting up.

Also, Spider-Man sounds like a 12 year old.

Spider-Man is supposed to be 15, and he's being played by an 19 year old.

Which is better than the last Spider Man who was supposed to be 18 and was played by a 30 year old.

If you've been to any of the Disney stores they are really pushing making $$$ of Spidey which makes me think this is going to be good for Spidey. I didn't even see Age of Ultron. I love you Spidey and hate what Sony did to you. Sam Raimi is still cool.

Yea,

"greatest action sequences ever"

"Emotionally moving"

"Both sides of conflict are right"

So the audience will be able to identify with both sides of the conflict and won't be able to choose between the two.

VERY interesting.

What's the order of movies to understand what's going on?

I've seen avengers. I have not seen Avengers 2 or Captain 2.

And, although not entirely too important to the Cap 3, Ant-Man if you wanna see the background on his character since he is in it.

Winter Soldier is the only one plot-wise which you will need. Avengers 2 would be helpful to learn more about the backgrounds of Scarlet Witch and Vision, but most plot points from it will be glanced over.

I agree that winter soldier would be more important, but in addition to the new characters, there will probably be a good bit of Tony's motivation in this movie coming from Ultron.

Saw it last night, and it was really good. Not sure if I liked it better than the Winter Soldier, but it is still definitely worth going out to see in theaters.

I really liked what they did with Spidey, but again, I am not sure if I liked it better than Raimi's Spiderman 2. The spiderman in this film comes off as a bit rushed, but aside from that he is very entertaining. Black Panther was awesome and completely surprised me.

The conflict that grows between Cap and Stark was very well done and evenly paced throughout the movie. I kept wanting them to get back to the drama despite the awesome action.

One thing that actually surprised me was the villain. I really liked what they did with him and thought that he fit into the movie extremely well. I don't want to spoil anything, but he isn't a standard cartoonish guy that wants to destroy the entire world. He is out for revenge and justice and does so on a small-scale, manageable way that I could actually imagine somebody being able to pull off.

Not true. This movie is basically an Avengers 2 sequel as much as it is a sequel to The Winter Soldier.

And yeah, Ant Man is randomly just thrown in as a cameo, so you might want to watch that movie as prep as well. He was actually my least favorite part of an otherwise outstanding movie.

Just got back, and I fucking loved it. Spider-Man was so fucking good, Black Panther was awesome, Ant Man was awesome. Overall as a movie I think I might place it 3rd best Marvel movie behind Winter Solider and the first Avengers, but it probably had 3 or 4 of the best individual moments of any of them. I would like to reiterate, Spider-Man was so fucking good.

Spider-Man and Ant-Man were great. Aunt May was totally hot. Their portrayal of Spider-Man while fighting was near perfect.

By the way, stay until the very end of the credits. There is a mid-credits scene and another one at the very end.

For top 5 I think I might go

1. Winter Soldier
2. The Avengers
3. Civil War
4. Iron Man
5. Guardians

Like I said, I loved this movie, and it had some of the best individual moments in all of MCU history, but as an overall movie I'd put it third.

Damn near perfect superhero movie. They made it fun and ridiculously entertaining while still maintaining the conflict and the gravity of the subject with which they were dealing. There were tons of serious moments during the fight scenes which were properly counterbalanced by some of the lighter characters. I especially loved how they handled Spider-Man and Ant-Man. I haven't even seen the Ant-Man movie yet (only MCU movie I haven't seen), but its definitely on my TODO list now.

The new characters were all introduced very organically, and existing characters who were "recruited" into the Avengers fell into place. This was one of my big gripes with AoU, so I am glad they figured it out.

Is this a better movie than Winter Soldier? Hard to say. Both were excellent. Winter Soldier was more serious, but Civil War was much more entertaining. I think I am giving the edge to Civil War just because it managed the same quality with so many more moving pieces and a stronger end message.

If Hulk had been in this there isn't really a way he could pick a side without it winning outright. His anger wouldn't really allow him to "hold back" and he could easily end up killing one of the Avengers.

Hulk's absence is better explained by the Avengers 2 ending. Its pretty much a continuation of that. Similar with Thor, though that reasoning was less developed.

Just got back from the theater. I have to echo the overall sentiments in this thread. Almost a perfect superhero movie. Pacing was excellent, good character development, logically consistent, etc.

My one quibble would be with the fact that apparently hydra's Russian super soldier program had a diversity initiative since they had a woman and the one black guy in the USSR as part of it.

Eh I'd honestly rank Hulk the 4th most powerful Avenger (Although to be fair Scarlet Witch despite being more powerful is also much more vulnerable)

Someone has to be that guy, so I'll be the first to say this movie was kind of meh.

I disagree on the pacing. It felt long and several parts were kind of boring. Too many unnecessary scenes existed for filler. Throw-away lines with small bits of exposition were covered in other areas or ignored entirely.

The big melee was amazingly well done and I'm impressed with how they managed putting all the characters on one screen, but it never felt like there was any reason for them to all be there.

Cap and Falcon were alone, but Falcon "knew a guy," yet they went and got Hawkeye, who had no purpose, and Scarlet Witch, who was torn until Hawkeye showed up and then suddenly she was willing to turn on Vision. And all because Cap just needed a plane?

The chase scene with Black Panther was by far the best part of the movie. But it was one of what felt like half a dozen scened which followed the same pattern:
1. People try to get Bucky
2. Cap defends Bucky
3. ???
4. Profit

The production value was great, but honestly Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man were both more entertaining. My rankings:

1. Avengers
2. Winter Soldier
3. Guardians
4. Iron Man
5. Ant-Man
6. Civil War
7. Thor
8. Iron Man 2
9. Ultron
10. Incredible Hulk

it's times like these I wonder if people actually watch the movie they're commenting on ....

^Ima let you finish but....

Falcon was OBVIOUSLY talking about Ant-Man when he said "I know a guy" after Ant-Man whopped his ass at Avenger head quarters in Ant-Man ...

this is made tripley apparent when ant man gets out of the van and has to introduce himself to Captain America, and references the oopsie is to Falcon who says "it'll never happen again."

They just get Clint to go get round everyone up since he's not currently wanted by every country on the planet. Also probably using Hawkeye to go get Wanda since they bonded during the fight scene in the Avengers 2 and it's not much of a stretch to assume she either looks up to hawkeye as a friend or big brother after he helped her get through the battle in Sokovia

And not because Captain needed a plane, because Captain needed to take his 6 buddies to go fight 4 Winter soldiers, but AS WAS DISCUSSED IN THE SCENE, had to go it with buckey because Iron Man wasn't going to let them leave without a distraction... We're you listening at all during said movie?

The movie was meh cause you're retarded and couldn't flesh out basic plot points.

This is why people shouldn't be allowed to review movies
