So we're in agreement then- We want Yow to back door DD with Chips special contract as OC.

Only problem I see with this plan is that it gives Chip incentive for DD to fail. However, chip has too big of ego to not try and run his offense to perfection.

Chip has said he doesnt like the ncaa rules and restrictions in college football. I think an OC would be the fit for that instead of HC.

I think Huxtable was the obvious choice to replace (well him and the secondary coach), but even though our offense wasn't the main problem this year I kind of like going in a different direction at OC. The offense was terrible in the games against Louisville, VT, and the final 3 quarters of the FSU game and for some reason even with Thornton & Dayes out we never seemed to make an effort to get the ball in the hands of our best play makers (Samuels & Grinnage). I'm not sure I've ever seen a team fake a play action in the backfield to an absent RB as much as State did this year.

Seems he likes the spread option but can also adapt offenses to his personnel. Really like how his teams have ranked offensively each year and he likes QBs that can run and pass.

Sounds a lot like Clemson's offense but on a small school level.

I think he is a good hire if thats who we get, and then take the offensive line coach from App. State or Boise St.

Yes, but has since been removed off the Tulane website with and link to him gone as well.

He has also started following DD on twitter and DD reciprocated.

He fits the players, the system DD likes and seems to be very successful.

I think it was the plan about 3/4 through the season for us to let him go...he obviously tried to pick up another job before we released him.

It's interesting that the A&M staff may be available. I just want a SEC D coordinator.

Yeah Hux isn't leaving, he'll be back next season, still under contract for 2 years. Plus our D actually was statistically better than our O this year, so switching OC was the bigger issue, and don't think DD wanted to swap both at the same time for continuity and recruiting reasons.

Interesting list that PP put out, not sure how accurate or if it's all speculation at this point. I mean DD is following a bunch of new OC's lately, hard to figure out if it's just a ploy or if he's actually building a list.
