Anyone know of a good spot? Currently paying $15 for a 5lb fill but I'm going through that in about 3 weeks. I'm open to getting a larger tank if the per lb fill will be cheaper...

^that's where I go.

There's also a welding supply place off Saunders I think but you'd have to call for the price

$15 for 5lb is the going rate. You're not gonna find any cheaper i'm sure.

What you should do though is find a 20lb tank on craigslist/ebay. Hydro test doesnt matter.

Take it to Machine and Welding Supply and they'll swap it out for a full 20lb tank for about $24 with tax.

The 20lb tanks arent "cheap", but they'll pay for themselves quickly. I've been doing this for years.

there are no "cheap fills" when it comes to the major pollutant of CO2. Thanks for contributing to global warming, ass.

I used to get the 20lb tank for my hydroponic setup refilled at 5th season on Western Blvd for about $25. I think I paid just short of $100 for the tank.

does machine and welding supply places typically carry food grade CO2?

Dont think it's food grade. But does anyone actually care?

Even the homebrew shops in the area get their CO2 from the welding shops. I know for a fact the one in durham just gets 20lb tanks and refills their customer's 5lb tanks from the 20lber from the welding shop.

After some searching, it seems it's all "beverage-grade". Even the stuff from welding shops.
