Unfortunately, they chose a cast that fits with the MTV viewing demographic. Manu Bennett is Allanon.

The first episode wasn't bad, but it is definitely gonna be a fantasy show for the teenage pop crowd and not one that may have actually read the shannara books (it's been a long time since I have, and there were just too many and too many different characters to keep track of)
