Not able to watch the game but following the box score. What is happening that Benjamin has gotten so little action?

Only time the ball was thrown at him he went 9 yards. You'd think they'd try it again.

He just got another reception. Earlier in the game, Cam threw at him but Benjamin was blocking the whole play and got flagged.

It doesn't have to cross the plane if you get 2 feet in, right? i.e., if it had happened in the back corner of the endzone, it wouldn't matter where the ball was located as long as the wideout got 2 feet down.

That's definitely the case in the back of the endzone, I'm not sure about the front though, if you catch it with 2 feet in but falling forward towards the goal line and the ball never crossed

in that case the ball has already crossed the plane of the goal line, while it was in the air.

Seriously, it was probably the most questionable offseason move by Gettleman considering we gave up a pick and are paying him more than Nortman, but damn was he ever worth it.

I'm pretty sure rescinding Norman's franchise tag was a much more questionable move than trading for a proven punter

lol, Luck just got a call Cam would NEVER get

^^Cutting Norman was only questionable if you bought into his hype during the season as the best CB in the league. He was a product of playing on a great team, and once he started griping about money cutting him made perfect sense. Just ask the 0-2 Redskins.

yeah ^^ norman was great for us last year - product of the system or not, how great he was last year isn't up for debate. you're right...it was definitely more controversial than the punter trade. just go back and read the thread from when it happened

Norman was more controversial from a personnel standpoint, but from a money perspective I don't think it was up for debate: he was clearly not worth what Washington ended up paying for him. The most questionable thing was that we did absolutely nothing with the money we saved from not forcing him to sign his tender.

Norman isn't the Redskins problem. The rest of that defense is. Having backup level players starting at the two MLB and the D-Line spots is the problem.

I honestly don't know much about the Redskin's defense, but if what you're saying is true, maybe the $50 million guaranteed they spent on a corner who isn't covering #1 receivers would have been better spent shoring up those other positions? Just a thought.

We let an All Pro cornerback WALK, but that's not as big of a deal as giving up a 4th rounder for a former Pro Bowl punter

lol that hat

I don't think they'll move it, but if they did would Carter-Finley be an option or would it definitely be Clemson?

Raleigh isn't much farther away form Charlotte than Clemson is, plus if they're worried about Charlotte fans not traveling then fans in the Triangle would have a better chance to make up for it. There's only about 40,000 people in Clemson including both the town and the university, as opposed to over 500,000 in Raleigh.

81k - Clemson
75k - BofA
57k - CF

That's like 18k fans who wouldn't have a seat if the game was at CF.

^I don't see how that's a possibility. But assuming it was, I'd imagine a night game would be a LOT higher risk as compared to the currently scheduled 1PM kickoff. Things are inherently more tame during the daylight hours, as evidenced by the way things have calmed down today.

They should keep it in Charlotte, and bus in the BLM protesters. That would be real, made for TV drama. Drunk NFL bros vs BLM would be a battle of epic proportions.

Ugh, this one's on the offense. Super predictable play calling and obviously poor pass protection. Honestly, I'm not that worried because I know we aren't this bad and it was definitely a weird fucking week for the team. Still, that's three out of last four games where our offense was totally dismantled by a strong pass rush. Gotta figure out a way to deal with that. Short passes, more screens, something.

I'm not making any excuses about the loss. But I don't understand how some of you people don't realize that legit defenses like Denver and Minnesota will give an offense troubles.

I feel like they tried a lot more screens this game than usual. We just don't have great blocking this year for whatever reason

Cause our offense is stellar. We're the highest scoring offense, disciplined (not today) , and have unique play calling. If we can't do it against top defenses then who are they really going up against? We too have a top defense but other teams are grinding them out.

God forbid we can't be a little critical when looking at an elite team

The offense is stellar, but the blueprint is out there on how to beat this team. Fortunately, the blueprint requires having an elite defense, which most teams do not have.

This team isn't comparing itself against suck ass teams. This team is a Superbowl team. This team has too much talent. I believe they will be good. But they have clear protection problems and the defenses gets slashed up late in games.

today felt like the superbowl game all over again, just felt similar, protection sucked but it did feel like Cam was holding a ball about a second too long a lot of of plays and wtf happened to his arm strength on that last play of the 1st half...that was like the worst deep ball he's ever thrown...he had ginn

anyhow not really concerned with the offense after saying all that, just got beaten by a good defense, what does concern me is johnson/ealy/short not getting any sacks so far
