People like you are teh problem. You say you don't like either primary party candidate. Yet, you continually vote for them.

WTF do you expect to happen in this scenario? As long as shitfucks keep voting for parties instead of individuals, we'll be left with this shit.

^^Yes, but when faced with Trump or Clinton, and you know that the third party can't win, whadayado?

You make sure that Trump isn't president, that's what you do.

If he had become pres in 2000, the US would be double the country it is now, in terms of awesomeness.

*the conservative mass base is hyped up with Trump. the more liberals, democrats and paid protesters protest him the more it solidifies them to get out and vote for Trump. The same people we see at these rallies are the same people in the moral Monday stuff. Working conservative votes are tired of it.

Grass roots and protesting has completely back fired this election cycle in my opinion.

Look, I think Trump's campaign has been very well planned from the beginning. If he's not trolling. What he did was look across American demographics and picked a segment that he knows has been left behind and has been waiting for "their" candidate. The blue collar white male. Everything he has said, with the exception of a few newer statements such as the HB2 bill, has been pointed to that crowd. Is that crowd enough to elect him? Maybe not. But do you want to take a chance by making a statement with a Johnson vote?

Ha yes, life is a series of causes and effects, and big choices like who's president have more of an effect than most.

Trump and Clinton are very different, it's flawed reasoning to suggest they're the same.

Waayy worse than Hillary. If you've read anything his personal doctor or lawyer has put out so far in the campaign, you should be pretty worried who Trump's going to put into government.

This is what i've been saying all along. One of Trumps many critiques is that he has no platform or hard position on topics. I think this was strategically done. If you are $Billionaire trump, even if you are dumb as bricks, you can at least pay someone to make a platform for you. I think most of this shit he blabbers is rhetoric to hype up the Joe the Plumber crowd and his lack of platform is intentional.

Too many of us actually think the D or R candidate is the best option overall, and even if nobody voted strategically, the D or R would still probably win.

or no one would get electoral college majority and 12th amendment kicks in:

Pursuant to the Twelfth Amendment, the House of Representatives is required to go into session immediately to vote for president if no candidate for president receives a majority of the electoral votes (since 1964, 270 of the 538 electoral votes).

In this event, the House of Representatives is limited to choosing from among the three candidates who received the most electoral votes. Each state delegation votes en bloc – each delegation having a single vote; the District of Columbia does not receive a vote. A candidate must receive an absolute majority of state delegation votes (i.e., at present, a minimum of 26 votes) in order for that candidate to become the President-elect.

I was wondering this too and assumed that the reason was the effect that a Bernie Sanders administration's increased spending would have on the deficit, but Donald Trump's original tax proposal would have lowered federal revenue by $9.5 trillion over the next ten years.

Impossible.

Once a government program or agency is created it never goes away. For example, even though the TSA is demonstrably ineffective it will never lose funding, get parred back, or re-evaluated in a meaningful way. In fact, it's much more likely to grow larger and encompass more things, just like every other federal program ever.

^Exactly! That's why Obamacare sucks. The classic example though is social security. Every time anyone in either party mentions reform, the other party just blocks it, puts out ads explaining that the other party will take your SS away, and hope that is a tipping point to get them in office in a close election.

^^I would love it if they would quit giving money to other nations. We give money to help fund the war on drugs in Mexico, we let all of those Syrian refugees come to America, and we give plenty of money away to other places too that we probably shouldn't. I'm all for helping the world like when we sent our military to Haiti after the Earthquake, but at the same time we need to cut everyone off in most situations. We can't constantly try to be the big brother and solve the worlds problems.

Our military is, in some part at least, a jobs program. I don't necessarily object to it either, but what I do dislike is all the boondoggle hardware programs or purchasing unwanted equipment to support the various businesses in congressional districts.

There would be short term economic pain, but if we dialed back our global scope of operations and forced our allies to actually field a military we would probably end up supplying them and maybe some of those businesses might either diversify or change their businesses to something less reliant on government funding.

^^^^^ the U.S. doesn't assist other countries for pure altruistic purposes, nor does it do so to police the world entirely.
-Our military is a jobs program as well. A gigantic one if you include the whole military industrial complex.
-in addition, if we want to be relevant, it is necessary to establish a footprint in other parts of the world.
-building infrastructure in less developed parts of the world is one way the U.S. makes economic slaves out of other countries. We build billion dollar bridges, dams, airports, etc... using and paying our own citizens while simultaneously allowing these other countries to rack up billions in debt that they have no hope of repaying. We then use that debt to extract natural resources, labor, military favor, and UN votes.

I'm voting for Trump. I don't know that I am a big fan of any of the circus clowns who ran this time, but the one person I really don't want in the White House is Sanders and it looks like we won't have to worry about that (Thank God). We need some fresh blood in Washington anyway. With all that being said, I don't think Trump is quite the train wreck people make him out to be, he just speaks the truth, but PC American has declared he is racist for it.

We need to shut down our southern border and quit letting the people from Latin America come here illegally. You shouldn't get an American citizenship just for being born on this side of the border. The illegals have undercut a lot of people in the construction industry and other fields. They are a burden on the health system and other welfare programs. I don't know if Trump will do anything about it, but he sounds more serious about it than the other clowns who have previously been in the oval office.

Obamacare is a joke and it sounds like he wants to get rid of that. Something needs to change with that. Healthcare costs have only gone up, not down.

The terrorists causing trouble in today's world are Muslims. Don't fool yourself, it isn't the IRA. I'm cool with shutting down travel from Muslim states to the USA to some degree.

Also, it was anti-Trump crowds protesting at his rallies. There would have been no violence, if they had stayed away. A black man who supported Trump knocked out a white guy carrying an anti-Trump rebel flag that was wearing a KKK robe. What do you expect to happen in that situation? The people supporting Trump, Rubio, Cruz, etc didn't charge the stage at rallies for Clinton, or Sanders. For the most part, supporters of the Republican candidates behaved themselves.
