I was at Atlantic last weekend. I didn't see you at the Shack!

Shitty weather...had like half a good beach day.

Topsail was perfect. Not even a drop of rain during the day.

everyone must have been scared. hardly no one on the beach.

sawahash does Atlantic/Morehead have Uber yet? Spending the weekend alone with the wife at AB

Yeah, people use them all the time around here...so much easier than cabs! We're getting high style in Carteret County!

Me and my brother grew up in Carteret County, and he still lives there. And in true local native fashion, he wanted his bachelor party in Myrtle Beach.

Pray for me.

I haven't seen Sawahash since the hurricane took out the pier at the Sheraton. What was the name of that bar again? Molly's or something like that

Yeah Molly's. That place sucks now. They charge $5 for a bud light. Ever since the hurricane destroyed the building and the Hilton took over they are only wanting tourists to come. They don't want the locals to come. The food sucks and the beer is over priced.

Lets not forget about this video from Hurricane Earl....

Yea, they have Uber now. I tried to get one Saturday during the beach music thing with Third Eye Blind but it was like 5X surcharge. I'm guessing they don't have a lot of drivers.

Atlantic Beach has the Atlantic Beach Beach Music Festival and the Crystal Coast Music Festival. The former is a beach music thing, the latter is not.

that hurricane video is the most sad thing I've seen in a long time. a great sense of irony that the person in that video is passing judgement on anyone's behavior.

i mean, fuck, it's basically one of those things that once seen can't be unseen. I can't get it out of my head in such a bad bad way.

I took like 4 Ubers in Atlantic Beach for the wedding.

Also, went to the Beach Bar Tavern & Grill, and definitely has been renovated since I was last there. Actually seems half decent. Played pool for a bit.

leaving for Wilmington tonight. Traffic-wise, would it be better to leave at 6:30 (earliest all of us have off) or get dinner in Raleigh and wait until 8:30-9?

like, would waiting until that late save us much driving time?

I would wait...I know how it is here...earlier today traffic was backed up all the way to Kurtis Chevy...if you're familiar with Carteret County you would know how bad it is....

In Wilmington I can only imagine that it is much much worse!

^^are you talking distance, or how long you've lived here.

Distance, I would say you are a local if you live in the county.

How long you've lived here...I wouldn't consider you a local if you owned a place here, but this wasn't your permanent location. I think if you've lived here long enough to not freak out over a Cat 1 or 2 hurricane when it comes, then you can be considered a local.

I like Ruddy Duck, Off the Hook, Sammy's and Tightlines. I still haven't tried Southern Salt, but I've heard good thing about them. It's actually been a while since I've eaten at the waterfront. We're trying to save some monies so we aren't going out to eat as often.
