Before the haterz scoff at the price tag, remember this is our money, no sugar daddies. Hell, we got 80mP for Ronaldo, only to replace him with Valencia. Sir Alex talked about saving money for a rainy day, this is it.

Real Madrid got a bloody bargain. Glad we are finally spending the Ronnie money. Its like the prodigal son has returned. I love it. Ordered an Ibra jersey today. Might have to order a Pogba too in a few days.

this is oldish news, but it sucks for Mata that Mourinho has randomly ended up at his new club

he'll spend many a disgruntled afternoon watching Pogba from the sidelines

Poor kloppy. Spends 60 million quid on Sane and Wijnuldum and thinks he isn't spending big.

Mourinho has already said Mata is in his plans.I am loving this hatred. Finally back to where we belong. Hated, adored but never ignored.

ribs remember when you thought the pressure would all be on leicester and tottenham wouldn't crumble?

Just so we are clear, you're OK with United basically saying fuck you to everything LVG was trying to do?

You have made the money organically so I refuse to criticize about spending an absolute shit ton but between Mourinho, Giggs leaving and Ibra (and United) putting Martial in his place they clearly decided to go a different direction from what you preached so hard last year.

The difference between you and everyone else on here is simple. We love the clubs we support but we also criticize them.

Has it happened yet? Didn't realize the season had started and Mourinho has already said bye bye to our youth products. Especially after he has already stated that youth will play a part of his Man United reign. I will judge based on merit. I don't control these things, I am a fan.

Quote :
"Mourinho, Giggs leaving and Ibra (and United) putting Martial in his place they clearly decided to go a different direction from what you preached so hard last year."

lol what? Putting Martial in his place? I don't even understand this. Giggs had to leave since there wasn't a spot for him at United. Do I feel better with Mourinho as manager or Giggs? Let me ask you if you would like Viera as your manager or Wenger. The answer is pretty clear. Giggs as manager would have been welcomed by our fans but it is a risk Manchester United cannot afford at this moment in time.

Quote :
"The difference between you and everyone else on here is simple. We love the clubs we support but we also criticize them."

Yes because I refused to criticize LVG and his torrid football and I refused to criticize Moyes and his clueless tactics. Bravo. Difference between me and everyone else is that I recognize I don't control how the club operates and I have hopes of the club respecting our history. What I clearly supported last year was LVG's youth policy. So to criticize Mourinho before a ball has even been kicked for it is premature and really just hating for no reason at this point in time. Mourinho will get plenty of criticism if he doesn't use our kids. What exactly should I be criticizing in a transfer window that includes Zlatan, Mikhi, Bailly, and potentially Pogba? With Mikhi, Bailly, and Pogba we strengthen three of our biggest needs going into this summer and build a reliable spine for the team that can last a long time.

FriendlyFire. I still hate big money signings. Does that mean I can't be excited for a player who is returning back to Old Trafford and we just shilled out a World Record fee on? Lmao. As I have said you would be stupid not to enjoy your teams success despite how it was attained. If United win the league all the rival fans are going to say it was bought. Sure it would have been bought but I am sure as hell still going to enjoy it just like City fans did. In the end you will be bitter your team couldn't afford the success and your board is to concerned with lining their pockets than having a winning team.

Let the jealousy flow through you guys, must be very cathartic. Didn't want Mourinho but my god I love how much hatred we have gotten since then. Cherry on top of this cake would be Mourinho winning the title in the next two years.

wazza, what I'd like to you understand is, when people call you out, it's not because they're jealous of Man U's success

it's because you're spouting hypocrisy/bullshit

now, I admit you know a lot about football, and you're obviously passionate about your club. but not only is a decent percentage of what you say nonsense, but on multiple occasions I've seen you completely change your stance on important questions, so that you can support current Man U policies, even if they contradict previous Man U polices that you also supported.

^^ lol. I'd write a justification but I don't see the point anymore. I have never flip flopped on wanting youth and hating big money signings. I still want United academy kids to do well and I would still rather an academy kid be given a chance instead of breaking the world transfer record. These things aren't under my control. That doesn't mean I am not going to enjoy the fact that we have potentially bought one of the best midfielders in the game. The manager is Jose Mourinho not wazza31. He will be criticized if he doesn't play our kids and he will be criticized if his big money signings don't pan out. Until then I will reserve my judgement and hope we play some good football.

okay, but when you say

"I personally hate big money signings"

and then

"Its like the prodigal son has returned. I love it. Ordered an Ibra jersey today."

you're basically having your cake and eating it too, expressing contempt for other people's big money signings or extolling Man U's youth programs, and then enjoying your own big money signings.

I mean, fine, as you say, you're not the coach, you can praise and enjoy everything new, whether it works out or not, without getting in trouble from the press. But it's hard to take your statements seriously when they're (in my view) inconsistent and biased towards Man U, even when questions of actual fact are concerned. (This later bit is more about your general posting, than your flipping on the question of big-money signings.)

Anyway, cheers to a good season sir

I have only had problems with two clubs making big money signings. More particularly one club that plays in the same city as United. They didn't do anything to earn their way into the top and basically got lucky. Also I have said it on multiple occasions you can sign whomever you want as long as you aren't bankrolling ridiculous losses. Man City's owners basically covered hundreds of millions in losses when they were trying to buy their way into relevancy. None of that applies to Manchester United.

What's the air like up there on your moral high ground?

edit: This post from reddit summarizes the topic quite well

"United fans will accuse City fans and Chelsea fans of being plastic when they were one of the first clubs to hollow out football, corporatise it, sanitise it, turn it into the corporate driven shell it is now where their fans agonise over noodle deals and boast about their financial wealth through Ed Woodward like Trimalchio at his dinner. The hypocrisy of United fans moaning about Man City's atmosphere when 'prawn sandwich brigade' was coined to sum up their iPad-touting, selfie-stick supporters with their Selfridges bags is not unnoticed.

The last few years when winning has been a struggle has seen a kind of martyrdom from their supporters, as if their massive transfer fees not fully working give them some sort of sympathy. All this has done has turned them into slightly more obnoxious Arsenal fans. The fact they've allied behind a manager whom had a meltdown live on TV after Steven Davies embarrassed his coterie of Russian-financed matrioshka dolls and a player whose outbursts have made him a meme for pudgy slightly racist 14 year old videogamers show their desperation."

lmao someone browses reddit. I will say to you what I said to the same idiot. If you think United is responsible for making football a corporate sport then you are an absolute idiot.

Yes Man United ruined world football lads, sorry we made so much money that your ticket prices are higher now, real fans have been priced out, and you can't get a decent pint at the stadium. All this coming from a guy who is not even a local fan and supports a club that is also a corporate machine. Hypocrisy is a two way street. So to quote an idiot I would say to you:

BS shit posts are met with in kind replies. Your post basically blames United for making the sport a big business, which is hilarious. Also it is extremely hypocritically to say I am sitting on a high horse when you clearly only support the team you do because it has become a corporate sport. No issues with foreign fans but if you want to continue shit posting then expect to get called out on your stupidity.

Also I have basically agreed with everyone on here on Pogba. Expensive as shit, slightly embarrassing we are bringing him back, and incredibly overpriced. Not even trying to justify it but its not my money and the club have clearly had a shift in transfer strategy since Sir Alex left. Out of necessity mostly. So really you lot keep going on and on about something I don't even disagree with. Switch shoes for a second and tell me if your team was on the verge of signing a very talented midfielder you wouldn't even be slightly excited. I am going to call you an absolute liar if you aren't excited your team could potentially sign an amazing player.

But it's not just Pogba. He's okay with "big money signings" no matter what when it comes to United - Shaw, Mata, Di Maria, and Martial are a few others that jump to mind at the moment.

Stop with the "I hate big money signings" horse shit because it just isn't true.

I would say if we end up paying £60 million for him he would be well worth it. Crazy money for a 19 year old but united can afford the risk.
