They keep saying Hillary's path to victory is getting natrower, but not a single state that has been officially called has been a surprise. Her path is the exact same as it was 6 hours ago. I'm not going to panic until Wisonsin or Michigan gets officially called.

Yeah, it's over. Wisconsin is gone and PA may go too. Look, you can blame Hillary all you want, but she performed or overperformed in all areas Democrats usually win. Rural areas turned out huge for Trump, which is something no one outside of Trump's campaign expected. The polls were wrong.

My prediction map is 100% accurate so far and I had her getting to 279. I'm not confident about it but I haven't crossed the line into pessimism yet.

I think it was pretty evident that in the suburbs, the margins weren't nearly in Hillary's favor as they were with Obama.

I said back months ago running on a platform of, "I am not the other guy" is a hard way to win. Didn't work for Romney, didn't work for Kerry, probably isn't going to work for Clinton.

^^^^^^^Nah, Clinton way underperformed. Case in point, Wayne County in Michigan. She was just an awful candidate who lost to an even worse candidate.

If Trump pulls this off, he's going to have a Republican Senate, a Republican House, and a Supreme Court Justice spot awaiting his nomination. It will be interesting to see if we continue to have gridlock in DC once the dust settles.

I wonder which congressmen will jostle to try and repeal Obamacare first so they can try to take credit for it.

I'm really surprised it went this way. I really thought the stranglehold that Hillary had on all media was going cement victory for her. Everywhere I looked besides obvious conservative outlets were championing Hillary hard.

Do you think the negative attack ads she ran constantly backfired?

NC went red for president and blue for governor for years and years until McRory (except for going Obama in 2008)

Bernie lost by 4 million votes. You want to blame the DNC, fine, but also blame the voters who overwhelmingly selected Clinton and Bernie himself who refused to court black voters in southern states.

DNC voters. you didn't let independents vote in many primaries and you had superdelegates herding their constituents to vote for hillary before it even started.

Bernie would have been called a socialist, he wouldn't have denied it, and he would have lost by a larger margin than Clinton.

The DNC did fuck it up sort of. After Iowa they narrowed it down to Clinton and Sanders. The Republicans let everyone fight it out for a few states and then they started backing out of the election one by one when they realized it was down to Trump, Cruz, and Rubio. The Democrats never really gave anyone a chance to gain momentum once the elections started and crowned Hillary their candidate almost right away.

^^ disagree.

If trump could talk past a Muslim ban, and saying a nation under one god, and suing reporters, supporting torture, and attacking innocents in war, then Bernie could have explained socialism.

All that support Hillary had from southern African American voters before Bernie's message really caught on did her soooooo much good now, didn't it.

^^^Maybe not, but that's how primaries work. It's not the DNC's fault that Bernie ran a shitty campaign. Also, while we don't know enough about the electorate that produced these results, I find it hard to believe that these hordes of non-college educated white voters from rural areas would have suddenly switched from Trump to Bernie.

Also, I find it hilarious that people are making hypothetical statements based on polling from 6 months ago, when polling from literally 2 days ago turned out to be completely wrong.

Bernie would have been competitive against the "angry" vote. Hillary is part of what maeks them angry. But a lot of them are independents who didn't get to vote.

One thing I noticed is that trump live streamed all his rallies where I don't recall ever seeing a Hillary rally streamed by the campaign.

Also saw almost no trump or Hillary bumper stickers, probably see more Bernie stickers than anything.

I saw Trump signs and MAGA hats everywhere I went in PA, and they were everywhere even in MD. I only saw about 5 Hillary campaign signs in someone's yard this entire campaign, and all of those were in DC.

But like you, I don't remember any bumper stickers other than for Bernie.

I hope he does well too even though I am not overly excited about him. What would be really cool is if someone would challenge him in a Republican primary in 4 years instead of going with the tradition of allowing the incumbent to run on the parties ticket.
