Reveal on 4/26 @ 1pm EST callofduty.com

Per Activision CFO, "Activision will take Call of Duty back to its roots and traditional combat will once again take centerstage."

Im intrigued.

All I want is a game where if I shoot someone 4 times in the chest with a handgun, they die like any reasonable person would expect. I hate FPS games where it takes 20 hits to kill anything.

How are the recent COD's map level designs? The last COD I played was ghost and they completely abandoned their 3 lane map design. Made holding a map with a team completely impossible.

I mean, what else could they do with the series?

WW1 is now dominated by Battlefield

Anything installment further into the future and they become a true Halo or Titanfall clone.

Either way...still not interested now, will wait to see if there's a true TWW resurrection.

Didn't we see this same exact game back in like 2001?

Going back to our roots = "Well, we went to outerspace, there's nothing left, we're out of ideas, so lets go kill Nazi's."

How about COD: 1812

So no wanna-be Titanfall wall running or gimmicky movement mechanics that in no way work with the COD hit boxes/net code... that further incentivize running around like a headless chicken hip-firing a strategically overpowered noob-cannon?

Bullshit you know they are gonna fuck it up

I don't really know what any of this means.

"One feature that has been a staple of the Call of Duty series for more than a decade — regenerating health — will not return in Call of Duty: WWII. Instead of simply avoiding damage or even picking up health packs to stay alive, you must now call for a member of your squad to come over and care for you manually.

Ammunition will work similarly; you won’t automatically pick up ammo the way we’ve seen in the majority of first-person shooters over the last few generations of consoles. Your squad mates will also be able to toss replacement ammunition your way in an effort to make the campaign feel more like a team effort, rather than a solo romp with a ragtag group of allies that don’t serve any meaningful purpose in terms of gameplay."

So a Battlefield copy basically.

I haven't played COD since the originals. Are there even solo missions anymore? What if you're playing solo and need help?

Wow that sounds like a shitty battlefield hybrid already

I'm getting so sick of these AAA FPS titles forgetting what made their initial hits good, and constantly feeling like they have to copy other elements from the competition.

You don't need COD loadouts in Halo, you don't need Titanfall wall-running or Battlefield squads in COD. When fans said they want to go back to WW2, they mean go back to old WW2 COD. Not necessarily because fans liked W@W, but because fans hate the direction these new dog-shit CODs have gone in.

i don't mind the idea of having a teammate revive you. I remember BLOPS 2, I never had any trouble being revived by a teammate whenever i was running Last Man Standing(i think).

Second Chance in World at War worked fine imo.

That quote about squad healing though sounds completely different. Regenerating health in COD never really mattered to begin with. I'm not talking hardcore game modes either... COD gameplay is essentially whoever-sees-who-first-wins 90% of the time, whether you have 100% health or 1% health.

For them to implement a meaningful squad healing mechanic would mean players would have to be able to take a lot of damage, which doesn't work with cod.

Unless that quote only applies to campaign/co-op, which I hope it does.
