It's probably cliche to say "my dad" but, my dad.
He lost my sister at 3 months due to a liver issue, before I was born.
He and mom held it together for many years making ends meet while being broke AF. One Christmas he went in the woods in our backyard and cut down a cedar tree so we could have a tree for Christmas. It was always an important time of year for him.
I had a great childhood even though we didn't have a lot of money. He was a teacher and in the summer he had part time jobs as a janitor in the big buildings in Charlotte. Whatever it took.
When mom got cancer in 2003, he had enough sick time built up through never missing days during the school year, that he was able to take an entire year off of work and he stayed by her side until the end.
Been through a lot of stuff but still keeps a positive outlook on everything.  8/21/2023 2:45:40 PM
