In a lot of ways, most religions themselves appear rather 'pagan' to me. the God really acts like a deity. sure they could exist, but I don't see how they could be the 'one' as Plotinus says "the first principle of reality is "the One", an utterly simple, ineffable, unknowable subsistence which is both the creative source of the Universe and the teleological end of all existing things" (wikipedia).

I see nothing wrong with subscribing to one, in fact it works well for a lot of people. but funnily enough, at its root most people's religion simply lies in who they were born to or exposed to, which then makes you wonder how one can be judged for their actions when they don't really choose their actions -- they are a product of everything that has happened to them.
