Epic Games @ NCSU

submitted by Perlith on Thursday, January 12 2006 at 6:37 PM

Date: Thursday, January 19th, 2006
Location: TBD (see comments for updates)
Time: 6:00PM-7:00PM

Topic: Next-Generation Game Development

Details:
With the raised stakes of next-generation PC and console game development, there's only one way that a lean-and-mean game team can survive, much less thrive: top-notch tools. Epic Games built the Unreal Engine 3, an award-winning middleware for cross-platform game development. In the talk, Epic Games will discuss the tools and development practices used at their company. These tools have helped make 25-man game teams competitive with 100-man projects. Epic Games will demonstrate their content-creation pipeline, and provide sneak previews of their upcoming next-generation games, Unreal Tournament 2007 and Gears of War.

Presenter: Dr. Michael Capps - President of Epic Games

Sponsored by the NCSU student group ACM/AITP
