Your idea is okay in principle, but there are a couple of bad/questionable points to it:

>what happens to the posts of the people who were legitimately posting in the thread?
>why should only premies get this "feature" when you said it yourself...self-moderation is needed so badly around here?

Personally, I think it would be a better idea, if this was allowed at all, to allow people to delete their own posts, or lock their own threads. I can see both of these, and the original idea, being misused for quite some time before people realize that "oh, wait, I'm damaging TWW culture here by misusing this" - at which point half will go "eh, I don't care" and keep doing it, and the other half will probably stop.

I don't really see this being used much though. I mean, who, besides Cass [who can delete her own threads in The Lounge and once could do so in Chit Chat], would really need this if we've got good moderators perusing the site?

I agree bigginal. It would be better if everyone could do it because lots of times n00bs make stupid threads that they later regret. That would clean up half the threads in chitchat.

i have a problem with this statement, doing something stupid and then spending days covering it up is, quite frankly, what you're going to spend the bulk of your life doing...

the ability to cover up one's stupidity is a huge aspect to attaining respect in the world...
