god damn, its turning into a trash bin. post those fucking ticket threads in chit chat dammit. if its car related, ie: my speedo was not working, how can i fix it, then yes post, but if its some bullshit like i didnt buckle my seatbelt, and well a seatbelt is part of a car, and well cars belong in the garage, NO. dont post.

damn its getting ridiculous, or however you spell that word

i mean, speeding tickets are automobile related, and therefore they BELONG in the garage.

then make a perpetual i need help with tickets thread...this shit with 4 different threads for what is essentially the same damn thing and has been answered already is getting old...i mean yeah, sure the search isn't working, but hell, every one of those picket threads are at or close to the top, so there's no excuse

chit chat is a bigger place than the garage, there is more potential for help there, i know its a slack ass forum, but no need for shit like that in the garage. same with all the stupid threads that people post about paint, window tinting and all that shit.

i'm just getting sick and tired of seeing 5 different topics that are essentially about the same thing and have been answered three times before

this shit is getting out of hand...

^well, damn. some of us actually do like a decent car-related message board. car-related tickets do not belong in the garage. move them to the lounge where everybody can respond. a 2nd mod is definitely needed if jsquared is not going to be around as much.

shut the fuck up, Karoush, half the trash that needs to be dealt with is trash you helped start.

I agree, but I have not yet heard from the Admins concerning that idea (although if half those people weren't such fucking retards, it wouldn't be a big deal if I was out of town for a couple days because everyone wouldn't go ape-shit).

Oh how nice of you jsquared...if you really think of the people who post regularly in the garage as brainless twits, then you really shouldn't be holding the moderator position. stop with your little flame wars because all you're doing is showing how unfit you are for a moderating position. Although you do make some posts that are relevant, even comical, most of the time you seem to be blasting out retorts constantly against comments made by people posting in the garage. instead of doing that you should be locking those topics and if you really feel the need to try to make someone feel like an idiot, then send them a PM. You've got a bad habit of forgetting that you are a moderator and you just try to dish out insults to the posts made by everyone else.

if I am attacked, whether it be my character or my opinions, I will defend myself. If the assclowns did not feel the need to take out their inadequacies on me, I would not have a need to insult their idiotic statements.

Do it over PM then. Don't make things worse by dishing out a stream of crap over a topic that should be locked.

I don't agree with what either of you are doing, but you are a moderator, and as such, you are supposed to naturally be the more mature of the two and either take the scuffle to PM or not respond at all. I've moderated multiple forums...I think I know a bit about it.

half the BS is started by me.. lol. when a thread is useless to begin with, there is nothing you can do to make it on topic. everyone comes in there and asks stupid Questions like, where can i find a parts store. and who paints.

contributing to a crap thread is contributing crap. why add more crap to it if it is already crap that needs to be canned? we don't need armchair moderators

Quote :

And I know quite a few people who moderate some fairly large car forums as well, and they and you don't have to deal with the large percentage of idiocy that pervades the user group in the Garage.

^^You're right, when a thread is useless, that's all it is, useless and funny. When people come into the garage and start making 4 different threads that are about essentially the same subject that was answered already and is close to the top, shit is getting out of hand. When the guy moderating spends more time dishing out his own stream of garbage instead of locking down threads and making his own contribution and taking his problems with people to more private areas, shit is really getting out of hand.

^you're right, I haven't had to deal with that crap. But the difference between you and I is the fact that I can handle that crap appropriately. You on the other hand, sit there and perpetuate it. There is nothing wrong with a couple topics with guys joking around.

look, there are gonna be trolls in this garage. and also people just making stupid threads. there is no way to stop it, unless you ban everyone who does it and contributes, and that means everyone currently in the garage will be gone. even you jsquared. we have all contributed to crap threads. even the thread i started about drifting, you made a picture about it. you could of easily locked it. its called humor. something we could all use

If you have never had to deal with it, how can you say you could deal with it "appropriately"?

There is a significant difference between "joking around" and the bullshit in the Garage.

I've never had to deal with the crap specific to the garage. I have had to deal with my share of crap before on forums, automotive or otherwise. Trying to make fools of people in the forums is NOT how you deal with crap. You lock topics that need to be locked, you PM or use AIM or email to contact people who you have problems with, and you contribute to the legitimate threads without putting people down, and you either don't respond to the 'bullshit' threads, or you continue a good joke and leave it be...or you lock it, if you've got to. And yes, there is a difference between joking around and the bullshit in the garage. I think I did a pretty good job of illustrating that difference. You have caused a lot of people not to like you...not the other way around, and you haven't done much to solve those issues.
