Does anyone have any feedback on Rollins or Granger?
I read one comment on Granger, and there was nothing on Rollins. I'm really just looking to pass the class and graduate in december. I'm not all that interested in furthering my knowledge of the French language anymore than I need to do in order to graduate. 7/23/2004 2:14:04 PM |

I had Dr. Beckman for 201 - I thought she taught 202 as well (could be mistaken). She's great though, will help you out if you need it. 7/23/2004 4:04:12 PM |

I thought Rollins was pretty tough. I ended up having to drop her class. Maybe i was just being slack that semester, but I made A's the rest of my french classes up through 202. 7/26/2004 12:15:20 AM |

Mme. Rollins is a good teacher, but she is a little difficult. she is understanding if you have problems. i dropped the course too, but not because of her or the course. 7/26/2004 4:15:13 AM |

i had rollins for 202, 301, and 492. first french class i had at state was with her, but i thought it was pretty easy. then again, i was already pretty advanced for a freshman so that helped. she can be tough at times but she'll make sure you know the material. she understands when students have difficulties and tries to work with them. for someone not looking to go beyond 202, she might overwhelm you at times, but i guarantee it's worth it.
as for granger, i never had her since she came on a little late in my tenure as an undergrad. any other questions about rollins or magill i'll gladly answer. 7/27/2004 11:34:33 PM |

tell me what you know about granger.
and which of the two is more difficult?
i'm carrying a pretty full semester, plus an internship, plus a job, so i dont need any added stress from a FL requirement when all i'm trying to do is get out of here in december. 7/28/2004 4:43:52 PM |

OK, I've only dealt with Rollins for a day when she subbed my 102 class...and I had Granger for 2 semesters so my info might be a bit skewed.
Rollins seemed to be a much tougher teacher than Granger...I think that for 202 you'd probably be better with Granger.
Granger will make you work...but as long as you do your work and show up to class you will do fine. She's a super nice lady and would set up an appt. with you outside of class in a heartbeat. My two classes with her were 300-level classes...and she liked for us to do lots of oral tests and lots of presentations.
My FLF 202 prof (Darrah) also made us do a lot of oral stuff. If she's teaching she would be my first recommendation b/c she's easy and slack as hell. And will let you turn in work really really late.
Granger won't let you do that; but she'd be my pick over Rollins.
