ALLOFMP3 DOES NOT PAY THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS. THEREFORE, IT IS A GREAT SITE TO USE IF YOU LIKE TO PAY FOR ILLEGAL DOWNLOADS.

It's also in Russia, and conforms to their laws.

Now whether or not it's binding in the US is still up in the air. But it's not explicitly illegal.

And LunchBox: There isn't anything significantly cheaper than napster/rhapsody.

How damn cheap are you looking to get? The current services, like Napster, Yahoo! Music, etc. are pretty damn cheap.

it "conforms to their laws" to the extent that they bribe the proper authorities to avoid being shut down.
I repeat: they are not paying the copyright holders. downloading from them is illegal. it is no different that downloading from kazaa except you're paying to make sure the songs are tagged correctly.

It might be legal, but I reckon you don't actually go through US Customs before you import the commodity music.

WRONG.

They bribe the authorities to override the BRIBES they are taking from the RIAA and the conglomerates to shut them down.

They are NOT BREAKING ANY RUSSIAN LAWS.

It is NOT illegal to download them currently. It is COMPLETELY different from Kazaa.

shit, I must've missed it when Russia repealed their copyright laws

and EVEN IF it were legal in Russia, that wouldn't make it legal here.
and EVEN IF it was legal here, it doesn't change the fact that THE COPYRIGHT HOLDERS AREN'T BEING PAID.
And thus, from an ethical standpoint, it still wouldn't be different from downloading from a p2p source.

"ISP liable in 'MP3s4free' case
Chris Jenkins
JULY 15, 2005
THE federal Court has found a website linking to illegal MP3s and the Sydney service provider that hosted liable under copyright infringement laws.

The music business' copyright enforcer, Music Industry Piracy Investigations (MIPI) said the ruling by Justice Tamberlin that internet service provider Com-Cen and parent company E-Talk Communications had been made liable by hosting the website was the first decision of its kind in Australia.

All respondents in the case, which was brought by a coalition of major record labels, would be pursued for damages, MIPI general manager Michael Kerin said.

While service providers around the world have usually defended such claims by arguing that they cannot control the content hosted on their systems on behalf of customers, Justice Tamberlin ruled that Com-Cen, "could have taken the step of taking down the website.

"Instead, they took no steps to prevent the acts of infringement."

The court also ruled that the website, http://www.mp3s4free.net, and its owner, Stephen Cooper, had authorised copyright infringement by providing links to illegally copied music files. Disclaimers published on the site were insufficient to provide a shield against copyright claims.

"Cooper had sufficient control of his website to take steps to prevent the infringement," the rulings says.

Com-Cen had no defnce under the provisions of the Free Trade Agreement with the US because it had no policy guarding against copyright infringements and had financially benefited from free advertising on the website, Mr Kerin said.

Com-Cen director Liam Francis Bal and technical officer Chris Takoushis were ruled to be personally liable for the infringement.

"I do not accept that Bal and Takoushis were unaware of the contents of the site," Justice Tamberlin wrote.

"The repeated evasiveness of Bal and Takoushis under cross-examination, their lack of frankness, and their failure to acknowledge an acquaintance with some basic matters of terminology such as 'webmaster' and 'MP3 files', support a conclusion that they were both involved in and aware of some problems with the operations of the website but decided no to further investigate or take any effective action in relation to the hosting of the website." they say they have legal music and movies for download. you pay something like $30-40 for a lifetime membership, and then everything is FREE.

all three seem to be setup by the same company/person, just different domains and looks.

do they really deliver "19 billion" files for $30-40? and is it legal?"

test drive one of these sites so then i know whether to subscribe or not!

if I was going to be a douchebag and pay for mp3s, I'd at least go with allofmp3s.com, because it kind of reminds me of this Russian porn site I went to when I was like 13, and also they don't fuck about with that DRM shit

Can you buy cocaine legally in Columbia (local)?

Besides. With the crap that passes for music now I don't even think it is worth FREE anymore. Now if I could just get those hoodlums off my lawn!
