100w m^2 * 15% effeiciency * 9 m^2= 135 watts

12v x 60a= 720 watts
12v x xa= 135 watts 11.25a

your battery is losing 48.75 a/h at highway speed with a 9m^2 solar panel, doesnt take a genious to figure out that aint gonna run long

As a former #1 garage idiot, I'm going to have to agree with TypeA that hassling with motor mounts is a pain in the ass when one is just trying to change spark plugs

I've changed plugs on my 7, on several inline 4 cylinders (Corollas and the like), and a transversely mounted V6 (6g72). Pulling an intake plenum off just for rear plugs is a hassle, but a Northstar Cadillac has got to be worse.

OK, WHICH ONE OF YOU FUCKING IDIOTS HAS ACTUALLY CHANGED PLUGS ON A NORTHSTAR, OR ANY OTHER GM FWD MOTOR THAT USES THE SAME PROCEDURE??? what? neither of you? that's what i thought. it's pretty damn bad when you make statements like that in a thread like this

I gotta agree with Ivan on this one. It's nothing to fuck with engine mounts. Just about everybody with a '90's model GM car with a 3.1/3.4 HAS to take an engine mount loose to change a serp belt.

There's nothing quite so easy as removing a torque strut on a GM car to rock the engine forward. Hell, on a lot of 'em, it makes taking that last bellhousing bolt between the engine and the tranny that much easier.

I've put engines in tons of vehicles (don't have much Northstar experience, more 4.1/4.5/4.9 experience) and so what?

i dont know where yall work, but i get paid by book hours, and for some reason whenever i work around 25-30 hours a week, i get paid for about 50 evey time, i dont know who wrote those labor guides, but they musta had to hand forge every tool they used during the job to take that long. when i worked for the state, hell yeah i'd take a day and a half to do a water pump, cause i got paid by the hour and didnt give a shit
