I was a Junior at Delaware for Floyd in 1999... When was Fran?

I know Floyd hit down here bad, but it was in Delaware too. We played football during it....sucked to go into the wind. I remember walking straight into the shower when we were done, clothes and all

Was there for Fran, Floyd, Dennis (Hurricane bowl) half a dozen other little storms.

I was in Mississippi for Ivan last year. Woke up before the storm passed and didn't know it. Went looking for coffee cause my power was out and the cops were like, go home.

Sophomore when Floyd hit and took out most of ECU...
They told us all this shit we had to do (move the beds away from the windows, get all valuables off the floor) it was intense

Was Floyd the one when they moved the ECU/Miami game to Carter Finley, and ECU tore the goalposts down?

Fran was the only hurricane we evacuated for out of that long span of storms. Of course, it went along the same path as the others and hit further north than us anyway.

Guess where we evacuated to: my aunt's house in Cary. It was worse there than in Shallotte.

I was at Broughton High School here in Raleigh when Fran hit, so I remember it. I was at NCSU for Floyd (I was a sophomore.)

I was also here for that snowstorm.... that kicked ass... of course, a snow plow buried my car in snow (it was parked on the side of Morril at the time.)

i'd just bought a jeep right before that big snowstorm. i remember hitching an old surfboard up behind it and pulling people up and down Varsity Drive at 35-40 mph...hahahaha

then we tied a big tarp behind it and i pulled several people at once around, doing donuts and stuff.

I remember the 2000 snow storm. It was during the Rams/Titans Superbowl... we were out for a week too at UD, and it totally messed up Winter Session (we had a 5 week winter J-term). My car was plowed into its spot as well.

I was a sophomore during Fran. I remember striking out the next day in search of some lunch with my friend who had a car. We made it down Glenwood to the Golden Corral, one of the few places open. I didn't realize how bad it was until we drove past Crabtree.

I was a freshman living in metcalf when fran came.
I smoked a bong for the first time that night over at UT and ran back to metcalf in the middle of the storm ... there were branches flying everywhere ... it was the beginning of an era of stupid behavior!

I was living in Asheville at the time and we got all the remnants, it was horrible. I to came visit my Dad in Raleigh not long after and I was shocked- I think that was when Grapehead's car got smashed in two by a tree.

It was one year before I started @ NCSU, but I remember hearing how bad University Towers smelled because all the mini fridges started thawing out. It was worse due to how none of their windows in the building can open.

Yeah, the Hurricane bowl against South Carolina was Dennis. I turned 21 that weekend, so that was pretty damn cool.

I was a junior in Syme when Floyd came through. I just remember that lots of people went out to the court fo carolinas and slid down the hill during the hurricane so the next morning when i went to get a shower, the showers were caked with mud.

It was also kinda funny how everybody lost power except NC State. Most people were in the dark when Floyd came through. We were sitting back playing Tekkan 3 and surfing the internet.

Fran was some crazy shit. I was a sophomore. Campus didn't lose power- we had it easy. They had people living in the gym for 2-3 weeks afterwards.

Hillsborough Street had power and was one of the very few places in Raleigh that did. All the restaurants were open and had insane waits. I remember eating at Golden Dragon with a 2+ hour wait. Some enterprising/price gouging students were standing in line for pizzas at Papa Johns. They were selling a single pizza for $50 and getting it.

The Free Expression Tunnel had trees down at every entrance....and people trying to crawl through them to get to offices/labs. The Doak Field entrance sign washed up in the Sullivan lobby. Some definite crazy shit.

I gave it to Flash who lived in Syme the following year. I'm not sure what happened to it after that but I think it got passed to another person.
