was anybody else over near the door when a fight broke out and tommy (lead singer) stopped singing to break it up. i didn't see what happened but at least one guy left bloody. it was probably some petty bullshit "oh you hit me on purpose in the pit, so i'm going to go berserk and kill you".

definitely not generic. unfortunately there IS a TON of generic utter crap out there. however you will be hard pressed to find too many other bands that sounds like between the buried in me in the hardcore/metal scene out there. and the few that do pretty much all came after btbam. if their sound becomes generic its directly due to the fact of what they inspired. each album of theirs is completely genre shattering for the scene they are involved in. pure and simple. to say anything is without knowledge of their band

they werent bad. i thought their site was tight and they sounded great through the PA. but too many breakdowns for me. plus chickenhead thought he was like THE MAN or the best guitarist in the room or something when he played open and first or second fretted barchords 80% of their set haha.

but btbam, what a set. SOLID set. 2 old ones, a good crop of silent circus songs and an amazing set of new songs. its usually hard to get into new songs bands play live due to not having it memorized like their recorded songs but whenever i see btbam play a new one i am always left in awe. standing right in front of paul and watching him once again for the umpteenth time of seeing them live just further proved to me that A) they are one of my favorite live bands, next to dillinger escape plan B) Paul is one of, if not THE MOST, dynamic, well versed, and creative guitar players in teh hardcore/metal scene today

chicken head was sexing his guitar. I have to give it to acacia strain though. I didn't care for them the first time I saw them, but damn they won me over this time. they had the crunchiest offbeat breakdowns. that one song, like 3705 or w/e it is. the beginning. perfect example.

first of all he actually is one of the most creative vocalists in metal/hardcore. but we werent referring to that. and making an assumption based on your posts i bet you never listened to enough songs to knwo that *GASP* they have lots of songs on the first cd as well as a handful on the second CD with extended clean parts, jazz parts, and OMGLIKENOWAYSTFU noob..singing??

but i wont dwell on the vocals due to the fact that no one was referring to that.
i debated even posting since joel pretty much summed it up. if you cant hear the originality yourself by listening then its almost pointless to argue.

but let me pose a question to you, if you are saying they are generic, asking where there creativity is. then point me to a large number of other bands in this genre who they are ripping off and being generic in relationship to. find me bands in the hardcore/metal scene who prove btbam unoriginal.

that show was insane! the second or third song they played off the upcoming album, pretty sure it was the second new song played, was crazy. i think everyone just kinda paused and was blown away by the how insane the guitar part was for that song, so fast and so accurate.

i've been wanting to see them live for several years and this is the first chance i had. to just listen to btbam cds doesnt do the music justice. this was by far the best hardcore band i think i have seen live.

i think dannydigtl is just trolling at this point. he knows how to play guitar enough to pick out some of the technicalities of their guitar work. he's making fun of people's enthusiasm.

i think their most impressive work (read::faster and harder) comes from their demos, before their first cd. some of the break downs in those are twice the speed of the same songs in their album releases.
