Even though you think I'm an idiot, I'll say that I've met a couple guys who've made good power out of them. One guy I met at Henry's was running a pulley, a cam, and a piggyback system and I believe ran high 12's. He may have had one of those really limited edition ones (GTX or something) though, but I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

decent, reliable car...pretty stinking quick for a big car. Just like any motor, esp. force fed..proper maintenance is essential. My buddy has had his since brand new- now he has 88K..not one problem with it, other than wearing out the front tires!

seriously, i think the 90 series supercharger is whats on all of them, you have to use GM supercharger oil in the thing. My old boss had one that was always needing supercharger oil. Apparantly GM used to recall the superchargers rather than fix leaks, but he bought his used.

they like a head gasket from time to time, but overall decent cars. transmissions aren't the best, not horrible though. interior quality and minor electrical issues (window, locks, etc.) plague some, which is pretty common of many 90's gm's.

If this is ugly to you, then what is your definition of good looking?

so that was a complete waste of time... the guy goes on in his ebay listing about how the car was babied and so pampered and taken care of. yeah not so much. it was dirty, half of the trick computer/boost meeter didn't light up, the fog light switch had fallen back into the dash, the paint was cracking on the hood, there were very visible scratches in the paint... not worth the money. so that was a no go.

yes, this car was a sad shadow of its former self

and i have to admit even with all the interior bells and whistles the thing felt like a cheap whore that was past her prime

those cars are gay... 4 door, automatic, and supercharged, that seems pretty oxymoronic... Not to mention, it is simply ugly... Now, I have seen a few two doors that don't look quite as bad, but still...

My dad had a 96 riviera with the supercharger, it was amazing how quick that car was (being a buick, and a whale). He drove it from new to 185,000 miles and never used synthetic. He had a water pump go out and the headlight switch go out, nothing else. Dead reliable and pretty quick. Basically the same as the GTP, so I'd assume the traits carry over. They also get great mileage, well over 30 on the highway. I looked for a GTP 2 door to commute to southern pines with but could never find a decent one.

The Rivieras are pretty nice cars. Usually not cheap though, and hard to find.
