I had read about these on a NAMM '05 review a while back, and I was pretty glad to see Boss getting some competition, it seemed like their effects boxes were a little overpriced. I have been thinking about getting a noise reducer (my juno's chorus is noisy), so I went to behringer site and saw the price and was shocked. It has the standard single effect boxes list price $30 (meaning they'll probably be $20 from a distributer), and a multi effects box listed $35 (distributer price $25). I'm kind of wondering, what's the catch? I don't think they've come out yet, but do you think they are just made cheaper than the Boss pedals?

I guarantee you they're made cheaper than the Roland stuff, but that doesn't mean they're bad. Looks like the case will be plastic, for one. 8/4/2005 2:33:02 PM |

It's tough to tell if it will be plastic or metal since the picture's computer generated. But I don't really care what they're made out of as long as they still sound like the boss pedals. 8/4/2005 2:45:34 PM |

My bet is the casing won't be tank-like, but I think quality will be very similar (sound wise).
I have already been pleasantly surprised at how good Berhinger stuff was. 8/4/2005 2:47:30 PM |

the catch is behringer copies everything they make and build it like crap.
cost effective i guess 8/4/2005 5:36:12 PM |

i guess it depends. for what you would be using a noise reducer for it might not make a difference. for me, the Boss NS2 was the only one out there that worked the way i wanted it to, which i guess is why they charge so much.
other ones cut out my sustain, or wouldnt let me get harmonics/pinch harmonics. even the boss noisegate wasnt very good. but the noise supressor cuts out all my feedback when wanted without hardly affecting my sound at all. something i didnt find in anything else i tried 8/4/2005 6:30:02 PM |

They make good mixers, and I've used the effects on behringer mixers and not been disappointed.8/4/2005 7:02:14 PM |
