haven't read anything about it, but it looks kinda cool on their website. the video they have for it is ridiculous, too...highway wheelies through traffic, high speed powerslides, hauling ass through traffic like that european dude who puts his videos on the internet...and the song they have playing in the background says "fuck" about a half dozen times.
that's some ballsy advertising and legal posturing!
i'm fairly set on a new Kaw ZX-6R, but i might have to check into this thing, along with the Buell Firebolt 1200cc model (if out of curiousity if nothing else) 8/8/2005 3:13:31 AM |

A guy brought one by the shop yesterday. Nice looking bike but it needs a new seat. I'm seriously looking into importing between 5-10 of these to make some decent money. 8/8/2005 9:41:06 PM |

ktm 950 superomoto is available fro 2006 in the us (for i believe around $13k). it should be comparable to the superduke. the difference engines fule injection on the SD and the extra 20 or 30 hp that comes with it. i think is looks fun but both 950 and Sduke look sorta porky (altough i never rode one myself so i cant tell if they feel that way). i would go for something like a street legal version of 450smr if i had the $$, also suzuki came out with a supermoto for 2006 which is a lot cheaper and probably just as fun, although comparing it to superduke or duke2 is like comparing apples to oranges. I think i will get myself an early 90's xr650 and convert it for a fraction of the price on the ktm withing the next year or so.

yeah, i doubt i can justify spending half again more than a ZX-6R would cost, when the kawasaki would certainly crush the KTM or Buell from a performance standpoint. 8/8/2005 10:07:52 PM |

Importing one could be very easy or very hard depending on what brakes, engine etc were used. Fortunately i know a girl that imports cars and motorcycles from europe for a living. Hopefully she'll know in the next week or so how hard and how much it will cost to do. Plus working for a KTM dealership should make obtaining them somewhat easier. If you want a true hardcore sportbike then dont even consider a superduke, however in the right environment it could be extremely fun.
They havent made an official announcement on the RC8 yet but i wouldnt hold your breath. 8/8/2005 10:33:55 PM |
