Hey guys,
Is there any way to find a windows password without knowing it? I was playing around with some wireless settings tonight to try and setup a wireless network on our hardwired PC and I must have changed the username/password from waht it was; now I can't log back into Windows becuase it tells me that the computer's locked. Any tips would b appreciated!

Your computer isn't going to randomly generate usernames and passwords. Try harder. 8/11/2005 8:39:14 PM |

I recently read about a bootdisk with a program on it that allowed you to reset the password in the SAM file 8/11/2005 9:37:24 PM |

if you are using windows xp, and can log in as another user (must be an administrator...which almost all logins are) then you can reset the password from there...let us now if you need insructions if you can get in
otherwise the only program ive used is ERD commander, works like a charm to reset passwords but its real expensive. I'm sure there's other solutions out there but ERD is what I always use 8/11/2005 9:54:35 PM |

^I used that bootup dos program on my aunt's computer. worked like a charm though kinda complicated and you can screw stuff up if you don't read the instructions first

Resetting the password can be done through 1 of several Boot CDs out there. Hiren's Boot CD is one that I've used in the past.
Identifying the password is another story, and a bit more difficult.
Neither is impossible on most machines. 8/12/2005 3:14:37 PM |
