I'm in the market for a utility truck for home projects and possibly towing a boat. I guess I want something with a V8, preferably with a towing setup...as cheap as possible. I've seen the DOT/state auctions, but you can't really check them out too well before you buy them. Anyone have one to sell, or know of any other good places to look? I've been watching craigslist as well, but haven't seen too much. 8/24/2005 8:22:43 PM |

by utility truck, you mean one with a work body on the back? or do you just want a base model pick-up? 8/24/2005 8:32:42 PM |

keep in mind on how state-owned vehicles are driven. if its got 80,000 miles on it, it'll run and drive like its got 250,000 miles.
just do a used car search for a chevy 1500 w/t. 8/24/2005 8:36:01 PM |

how soon are you looking for something? my roomate is going to be selling his 86 f150 within the next month or so. it's got a freshly rebuilt fuel injected 302. 4 speed manual 2wd. everything is in good working condition. new rims/tires also. body is decent, could use some paint but there's no major dents or rust and some of the prep work has been done. i think he's going to ask around 2k. 8/24/2005 8:44:07 PM |

Ive seen several that have come from the DOT sales, they are decent trucks, the air ALWAYS works. They are yellow tho, so be ready to drive a cheese wagon or have it painted. 8/27/2005 4:51:46 PM |
