Clemons and Carpenter... they shouldn't give one to the AL this year. 8/25/2005 9:59:18 AM |

if Johan finishes off the season like he did last year...it should be him
6-1 after the All Star break with a ~1.50 ERA
he doesnt have all the wins yet but god damn look at the strike out number comparison] 8/25/2005 10:06:07 AM |

I love the Sox, but Mark has been very inconsistant this year
he has been SHELLED on more than a few occasions, then he'll look like a HOF'er his next outing
I say give it to Bartolo 8/25/2005 10:07:21 AM |

shit bartolo is just as bad as buerhle in terms of consistency
its sad to see garland come back to earth. some guy on ATH last night was saying he knew in march the Sox were gonna be good b/c they had such a good pitching staff w/ buerhly garcia and garland. i wanted to be the host so i could tell him he was full of shit. there wasn't a single person in Ameria, including Sox fans, ozzie guillen and even jon garland, who thought he would have the type of first half he had.
anyway. i think right now i agree w/ abonorio, none of them really deserve so we'll have to see how they do in the stretch. 8/25/2005 11:17:14 AM |

Or maybe Mariano Rivera 6-3, 33 Saves, 1.52 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 64 K 8/25/2005 11:41:15 AM |

if halladay can come back and maybe get 3 more wins while keeping his ERA low, he should get it 8/25/2005 12:23:57 PM |

With Halladay being shut down for the rest of the year, he won't get the Cy Young although he's been the best pitcher out there this year. My money is on Santana, dominating the rest of the way and squeezing by Bartolo. 8/27/2005 11:06:09 AM |

Santana should win out of those. Stats wise, he is right up there with the rest and with more strikeouts than anyone. 8/27/2005 1:22:40 PM |

Updated stats for contenders. I dropped Halladay because he's injured and added Cliff Lee, who has provided an ace for the Indians as they push for the wild card.
Mark Buehrle 15-7, 3.13 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, 129 K Bartolo Colon 19-6, 3.23 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, 140 K John Garland 17-9, 3.51 ERA, 1.17 WHIP, 94 K Cliff Lee 16-4, 3.69 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, 129 K Johan Santana 13-7, 3.17 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 207 K 9/13/2005 6:52:22 PM |

On Sportscenter they just said Kevin Millwood now leads the AL in ERA and is 9-11. Whats up with that, the Indians are leading the wildcard he should at least be .500. 9/14/2005 12:07:42 AM |

IIRC I think Santana started kind of shaky this year but has been lights out in the last few months.
I would say BUEHRLE (I'm a huge Sox fan and even I misspell this constantly), but there really is no dominance here.
And hey, what ever happened to that Randy Johnson guy? 9/30/2005 1:51:33 PM |

Unit's been pretty solid over his last five or six starts.
He changed up his between-start activities and it has seemed to help so far.
Of course, it's disappointing that he hasn't been dominant the entire season just because of who he is, but he came on strong the last couple weeks and is a big reason why the Yankees even have a chance to win the AL East this weekend. 9/30/2005 2:03:17 PM |
