How long before this indexing of Gmail messages is complete? I've had it for almost a day now.

ok i just installed google desktop like 2 days ago. since then, my computer has been running at 100% cpu usage (in task manager), and because of that, every 2-3 minutes, my laptop freezes for about 15-20 seconds, which is highly annoying, especially when scrolling on a webpage, or typing.

i looked at all the components of google desktop in the task manager, and they are using a total of 35+ MB of memory!!! i disabled the pictures component, and no difference!!! still at 100%, and still 35 MB.

is this typical? i am inclined to uninstall if it is going to drain my laptop like this.

please help.

i also installed the google toolbar for IE at the same time. since then, when i am typing a url in the browser, it doesn't do the auto-complete any more. and that is really frustrating. i disable the toolbar, but still nothing. what's up with that?

so can someone solve these 2 problems for me?

i'm afraid us americans are much to evil to help you, and since you're using an evil american piece of software, and an evil american OS, you'd be better off not using any of it. good day.

^^it takes a while to index everything. Just let it run overnight while you sleep for a day or two. You can pause it while you are actually working.

And google toolbar doesnt disable autocomplete, just re-enable it via the normal windows/ie manner.

thanks

as for autocomplete, it IS enabled. and i have disabled/enabled it several times, but no change.

sometimes, when i am typing a url, the field drops down as if to show suggestions, but it is all empty and white.
