Just curious, because I've clicked on threads before, looked at it, and the view count didnt change.

What exactly counts as a view

this is probably not posted anymore - but the view count only updates on certain events or time based triggers - for example when a user posts the view count updates - it doesn't not update all the time to lessen database read/writes
