anybody drive an si, gsr, that runs 87? I've read multiple things but as far as i can tell (from what i've read) if your not vtecking the shit out of it shifting at 8k then you can run reg gas. opinions?

the ecu won't let you hurt that engine by running lower octane. it will just retard the timing when it detects knock. expect a check engine light, though, but is easy to get rid of when you run 93 in it again by going to the fuse box in the engine bay. you will see a 7.5a back-up fuse. pull it for 30 sec., then re-install.

which makes it even more sweet that my car runs regular and so does my beater

even cooler that the new mustang GT's run regular too and they make 300hp

i heard that chevron ran out of 87 and 89, so they're selling nothing but 93 in those pumps

sounds like bullshit to me though

ive been running race gas mainly, 110 octane leaded. runs good

My car requires premium, and with a 1992 era CPU and 250k miles I'm not gonna chance it.
