My girlfriend got a new battery in her 98' Accord and now the radio is displaying an error message and the manual says "if this happens, take it to a dealership." Any ideas on how to bypass that?

do you have a radio code on a card? usually kept with the owner's manual/reg. papers...there might be a 5 digit (I think) code that needs to be entered for the deck to work

the dealer can get the code, but they probably need the number off the back of the deck...they might be able to work with just the vin, you should call and check just to be sure
