Word of mouth.
Last I heard they have been out of race fuel for a while anyways. 9/3/2005 4:37:55 PM |

shows how accurate your sources are. they estimate that they have 400gal left in their 500gal tank, which they just got a few months ago and have only had filled once. I have known the Likness family for years, I went to school with the twin girls, my lil brother went to school with Joel, etc... they handled all the machine work on my Olds and when I screwed up the first build, they totally rebuilt the engine again, installed several hundred dollars of performance oiling parts that I hadnt included in the build before, and even did my heads for free. they only asked that I cover $400 or the cost of the new parts. after several months, I just closed my outstanding balance with them friday and when I apologized for taking so long, they let me know that they were more concerned with how the engine was running than anything else.
ill reccomend them to anyone, my experience there has been great. they will get my machine work in the future as well, and if i decide to go all out on my 3800, they will build that too. 9/3/2005 6:31:24 PM |

I respect Diggler, he knows his stuff too. but HRT and the Likness family arent shadyt at all, not in the least. Poe87 can also attest to this, and maybe another TWW member or two. 9/3/2005 10:33:57 PM |

What I "heard" isn't anything bad........just nothing at all. I don't even know how long that shop has been there but the first I heard of it was when I searched for race fuel a month or two ago and found their shop. Never heard even mention of it, but when I asked around everyone said the same thing. Usually shops names make it around.......for some reason that one hasnt. Hell they might be one of the best machine shops around........just weird that myself or anyone I know hasnt heard of them..... 9/4/2005 11:47:57 AM |

so no news is bad news? not hearing anything about them qualifys them as shady? you dont have to awnser. instead, next time you need something done why dont you go down there and talk to them yourself, use your own experience to form an impression. 9/5/2005 10:47:49 AM |

They've been operating for just over a year now. They just started carrying fuel early this summer, and that was only one type. I think they have since started carrying another octane rating or two, but call them if you want specifics. Like Joel, I have known them for quite a while, and they good guys who won't do you wrong. $5/gal is a great price; you won't find it anywhere else for less than $5.50/gal. 9/5/2005 5:23:03 PM |

At the pump in Mebane, it was $4.50 a gallon.9/5/2005 11:02:22 PM |

At what pump in Mebane? It must not be the same fuel. VP doesn't want anyone selling it for less than 5.50, which is what practically everyone charges for it. 9/6/2005 7:23:43 AM |
