How expensive (in terms of fuel) is it to startup a car? Is this more than the expense of idling at a stoplight for 15 seconds? 9/4/2005 2:11:25 PM |

it is more fuel efficient to shut off the car if idle will be kept for more than 30 sec. 9/4/2005 3:34:04 PM |

it is hard on an engine, with no oil presuure everytime you start it, not to mention wear on the starter and flywheel. If you are idling less than 5 min or so, its not worth a few cents of gas to take 50,000 miles off the life of your enginge in the long run cutting it off at every red light. 9/4/2005 3:47:25 PM |
