well although repubs control congress, it still does not mean much either way. Bills still have to pass both the house and senate floors with 3/5ths majority to be considered by the President. There are many chances for dems and independents to get in the way, which is why our government takes so long to do things (but also the reason why our gov. is so great). Another important issue is lobbying, and believe me, liberals get their fair share of exposure lobbying.
