Quote : | "U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay's visit to Reliant Park this morning offered him a glimpse of what it's like to be living in shelter.
While on the tour with top administration officials from Washington, including U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine L. Chao and U.S. Treasury Secretary John W. Snow, DeLay stopped to chat with three young boys resting on cots.
The congressman likened their stay to being at camp and asked, "Now tell me the truth boys, is this kind of fun?"
They nodded yes, but looked perplexed." |

not possible that he was trying to get their minds off of the shitstorm, is it? naaaaah. certainly this instead means that Tom Delay thinks that living in a glorified homeless shelter with little provisions is a wonderful and fun thing! 9/10/2005 9:53:31 AM |

I liken Katrina to zombies and I think we can all agree that zombies are fun.

shipping insurance? provisions and MRE's are worth more and the government can't afford the value-based shipping insurance? 9/10/2005 11:47:46 AM |

If I was Delay I'd be keeping a low profile right now. He's due to be indicted sometime soon on breaking funcraising laws. A bunch on his immediate folks have been convicted or are under indictment right now.

at least someone can find humor in the loss of thousands of lives
I guess that means she sleeps with a comedian 9/11/2005 12:57:45 AM |

yes
thousands
generally the term used to describe a group larger than "hundreds" but smaller than "millions"
i mean i guess we could say DOZENS of people have died that would be a shitload of dozens though
hell we could have a new term
Dozen Bakers Dozen and now Katrina's Dozen
you use that for when conservatives want to act like something isn't as bad as it is
like, "hey, did you hear how more many people filed for unemployment this year?"
"oh it wasn't that bad, it was only a Katrina's Dozen"
"oh, k"] 9/11/2005 2:33:15 AM |

Obviously everyone hasn't been found, but it's looking like the death toll estimates around 10,000 were a bit high. 9/11/2005 4:24:00 PM |

There's no way in hell that they'll report it as any more than 3,000. That's the magic number in my mind (9/11 total) Any more than that in either Iraq or the Katrina aftermath and the tipping point is reached. 9/11/2005 4:51:56 PM |
