My laptop works great and has everything I need on it, but the caseing has been through it and is cracked in a few places.

Is there someway of putting the guts in a new caseing instead of buying a new laptop?

Use some PVA glue on the case. The glue actually bonds the plastic and will set harder than the surrounding plastic of the case. As for scratches.... sand and paint. You can make it look like new with a little effort.

Why would you suggest that he use glue on his old case, if he had already said he bought a new one from dell 5 hours before......?
