So apparently the wallet pocket zipper on a pair of shorts is sharp as fuck. It had punched through a lawn chair apparently earlier in the evening and then it took revenge on my recaro leather seat in my VX.

Question, is this repairable? I've been told yes, but I want to guage opinions.

New list price for just the bottom on the recaro in grey-black is $1800 from the dealer.

Sorry about the quality of the picture.

Oh and the pair of shorts was burned upon discovery of the deep scratch.

Have you tried an upholstry shop? A good one should be able to repair that pretty easily and inexpensively. You could also try that repair stuff from advance if you can find a color that matches, shouldnt look too bad.

skank,

this happened LATE last night apparently. I just discovered it this morning. I called Raleigh Auto Interior but they aren't open till tomorrow.

If I didn't care more about this car than my own life, then I wouldn't really have a problem with a DIY solution. However, since this isn't the case, I'd rather leave it to a professional.

Yeah, that shouldn't be a bad fix.

My dog had done worse than that to my G35, and I had it repaired at the dealer for less than $100

welp, took it to auto interiors over on West St. The guy said that they don't do "repairs" like that. He wanted to replace the whole panel at a cost of almost $300. He said some vinyl shops in the area would be able to fix it much easier and cheaper.

Looking on car-part.com I found a grey/black seat in Durham for $350.

(hint for those of you looking for a "reasonably priced" authentic recaro, this is the way to go)

well, shit. sorry about the recommendation then. i can't believe they don't do repair work. hell, they're probably to busy.

you might could try Earp's Upholstry on Stoneybrook dr. they did a good job on repairing my couch after dog turned it into a scratching post but i know they do a lot of cars also.

Thanks man,

and don't apologize for the recommendation, I could tell its a popular spot and had a ton of business when I pulled up.

The chick behind the desk was kinda hot too.
