Hi, I am just wondering if anyone here has had ENG 265 with Knowles or is in ENG 265 at 11:20-12:10 with him. We had a test today and it was difficult. I wanted to know if anyone knew how tough he is with grading. I have a feeling I did not pass it. I read everything, but it was hard to identify the quotes bc of there being alot of matierial to remember. 9/19/2005 5:40:36 PM |

hey i had this class last fall. I remember it being pretty obvious to recognize the quotes on the exams. He is not that tough with grading. i think with the quotes you had to identify what story it was from and what it was about/why its relevant. Im sure you did fine. 9/19/2005 8:20:46 PM |

I hope so! There was one quote that I had the right author and gave the name of the wrong work. My explanations were also pretty bad I think. I hope your right about him not being tough on grading. I think I also spelt the first name of one of the authors wrong but Its from the right work. I hope im over reacting, but I havent spent as much time on the class as I would have liked so.. 9/19/2005 8:32:12 PM |

I have knowles in the morning, and we have our quizes. Most of us make below 70 on the quizzes. He counts off for ridiculous stuff. It seems like he wants a whole summary of the story, not, and I quote from the quiz directions, "..a brief comment on some significant point of interst in the quoted passage." I take the quizes home and check my answers, all of them are correct, but not correct enough for him. The last to quiz grades of mine were 50 and 63. Both of them I deserved higher than an 75 or 80 on. I hope to God he curves the grades at the end of the year, cause I am a senior and have student teaching next semester and I don't need this shit. 10/30/2005 10:43:00 PM |

I also have this class with Knowles in the mornings. The quotes and authors are fairly easy to identify, but the stuff he wants with the description is kinda strange. It looks like if you just quote what he said about that literary quote in class, you get ~full points. 10/30/2005 11:44:17 PM |
