There's a way to reload your profile.

I can't remember exactly how, but it's happened to me before and was fairly easy to fix. Look it up in the help database.

in Firefox:

Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks>File>Export

That exports your bookmarks to somewhere so that you can import htem later in the event that it deletes them all again.
