So, I've got my eye on a new project...2006 Amarillo F250 with a 6" Skyjacker Lift, upgraded turbo, intake, exhaust, chip, blah, blah, blah...anyway, how much of a bitch would this be as a DD? I drove a 2005 Harley F250 for a week back in August and loved it, aside from some parking issues, which can be easily fixed with more experience driving it...just wondered if anyone had some long term opinions with similiar truck setups...

actually unless regeared it will might be better w/ gas mileage than a stock one... heavily loaded diesels are more efficient and the big tires would make the motor work harder but also move you farther per rotation

i have several friends with lifted 250s as DD's. Most of them live at home though workin on teh farm or stuff but a couple up here. If you stay with like 35s(i know u can fit bigger but its a DD) they all seem to love it. all of them have 35s. Theyre really not that much different than stock in my opinion. I mean its a big truck anyways, so theres really no new problems that werent already there, as long as you dont go crazy with like 40s or osmething. ask the guy that always parks his in front of reynolds, his name is jeff. His truck is brand new, navy blue with the 4" lift and baja claws, so hed be able to tell u how he likes it.

I've got a '01 Cummins w/ 8 inches of lift, 37s and 4.56 gears among other things, it's great as a daily DRIVER, but parking is a little tricky (and it won't fit in Coliseum or Dan Allen decks).
~20mpg

LJTyre if thats your white truck in your gallery, it looks pretty good...if you do anything else to it, I would recommend putting it into the driver side of JonHGuth's sensible car

this guy on HPJ is selling his V-10 F250

its pretty nice but I have no idea how the v10 is on gas

6.8L is 8-11MPG...

13MPG in my 5.4L f150 sucks bad enough... until I started dating my G/F who has a 30mpg vehicle I was locked in town b/c I couldn't afford to drive anywhere...
