I walked in there a couple times. It's in a poor location, no foot traffic. Gamefrog is doing and will do better because it's in a mall. There aren't really any good locations around here for a LAN center other than malls. One would possibly do better on Hillsborough St if it were directly across the street from campus, but I doubt it because if someone is a gamer, they'll just game in their dorm room instead of walking somewhere else to pay a fee to use a computer.

Gamefrog gets the middle school / high school demographic whose parents give them $20 and drop them off at the mall to get rid of them for a few hours. TheTek is hidden in a shopping center with no big anchor and not really close to any sizeable residential area.

That shopping center is really weird. Edible Art is good, and they have a reason for people to drive there. I'm surprised Ben & Jerry's survives there, they would do much better in Cameron Village or closer to campus (or Crossroads). I guess Playmakers is decent, never been in there though, not much of a bar person. Any time you go into that shopping center other than a Friday or Saturday night it is totally dead.
