What are the options of repairing a flat tire temporarily until I order some new tires? I've been told about patching the hole up...but is it trustworthy? Let me know some info or suggestions.

if the hole isnt in the sidewall, and if it is just a screw or a nail or something, you can plug it

as long as you arn't really racing on the tire, or it isn't in the sidewall, or on the corner, then a plug is fine for any tire.

i prefer patches to plugs, just for peace of mind. but either would work for a screw/nail through the tread

plugs can come out, they are TEMPORARY

patches are done from the inside so they won't come off.

you can go to a lot of places and they will fix your tire for free.

phillips 66 by campus where i work, we plug the shit out of anyhing except sidewalls, and have never had a comeback, the only thing we patch are like bolt holes or something of that magnitude

I've been plugging tires for over 10 years at my fathers store...prolly done over 500 tire plugs myself. I've only had like 2 tires come back leaking from that plug. BTW, we charge like $5-7 for a tire plug.

^yeah. $5-$7 sounds like a reasonable price. the exxon near my house charged me $8. and they are a pretty expensive place.

i do them now myself. you can get kits from the parts store, get the right kit, not the cheap ones.

I got my tire patched from MURRAY'S - $13 for everything

I had a deaf guy work on mine and it was tough to communicate. Place is kinda sketchy at first but they are fast, friendly, and awesome!

I been plugging tires since your mom tooled around in a chariot.

The only ones I've had come out was the wad of two or three in the sidewall of one of my rear tires...after a week (no way would I even dare to try on a front; just did it to see how long it would hold).

I've run two or three driving schools with plugged tires. Held up fine.

I've also patched tires, but that involves dismounting, and well, I don't own a Rim Clamp tire machine...or any tire machine for that matter. The hell with it; plugs are the deal.
