the original cab file i FINALLY got my hands on is now corrupted, and when i try to modify any windows component installations, it asks me for a service pack file "cinfo.xml". naturally i cannot find it, and my system threatens to uninstall the update if i use the files from my SP1 install CD

ive found what i think is about 99.9% of the extracted cab files in the *\service pack files\I386 folder,

is there a way to gather up all the files and re-install the service pack?
Where might i find this "cinfo.xml"

thanks!

from google, it seems like a reinstallation of IE and/or SP2 will work

or are you not wanting SP2?
