Anyone know of a good aligment shop in Raleigh that is affordable and reputable? My tacoma is pulling to the left like a mofo these days.

^ill second that. keven just gave me the mad hookup yo on some used tires to get me through VIR. real good guy. its almost fun to go to him because you can hang out and talk about cars for a bit while he works on your car.

I have to get my rex aligned by hand due to the extreme offset of the rear wheel and camber I have em set at. Got it done at a place down 401 in garner by some country folk, but I'll be damned if it wasnt the best job I have ever seen especially considering the price. Let me know if you want me to hunt the name of the place down.

i would have to say digital chassis is probably the best around.. but its expensive and it takes a while to get in there.

bah I just take my shit to Sears... and I have a camber adjuster and everything. They have a 6 month/6,000 mile warranty, so I take it back every once in a while in case those potholes on Hillsborough street fucked me up.

I'm thinking about taking mine to firestone for the lifetime alignment service plan. Does anyone have experience or helpful information about this?

Also, would there be alternatives other than the places stated above? I'm still trying to find a good place for a good price. thanks!

dont know how you can tell a good alignment guy from another.

i mean, you tell them the specs you want. and they dial it in.

unless its their first time, i dont see one guy being the best and another sucking.

just go to any shop.

baonest does have a point. Computer alignments are a snap to do...I used to do 'em when I worked with Penske back about 8 years ago.

I hated getting a fullsize Chevy or something similar that I had to shim.

Most of the time, though, it was "set the toe and let 'er go" because everything else was fixed...unless you wanted to get medieval with a BFH!

I love "toe'n Go" allignments
I hate the damn old trucks that come in.
Agreeing with the others, with a computer allignment, it makes no difference where you go. Unless they offer that pay more and we will warranty the alligment. That is some stupid shit for them, and great for those of us who are hard on our cars.

you guys act like alignments are rocket science or something. the fucking machines tell you what to adjust, where it is, what tool you need, and have a video of the adjustment if you still dont get it. just find the cheapest place.

^HAHAHAHA....the painful truth is that you've got a major point there, especially with geniuses that don't understand the relationships between caster, camber, wheel setback, toe, etc.

But most of the time, like we all know, it's "set the toe and let'er go." And that's easy enough. Throw one of the others into the equation, and a lot of folks are lost.

Anyone know what the limits of coverage on these warranties are? My front tires are completely fucked up, so I damn sure need to get my shit aligned before I get them replaced. However, probably in the next few months I'll be replacing my front air struts, and I imagine getting re-aligned after that would be a good idea, so if I don't have to pay twice that would be ideal.

as long as you are within the alignment warranty, you can get it redone as often as you want.

sears may say that since you have had suspension work done you voided your warranty.

i learned on, and have most of my time doing alignments on an ANCIENT hunter string machine. not only are there no videos to tell you how to do anything, all the specs have to be manually input and it may or may not even work depend on how the wind is blowing.
