let's get serious here: there's no way that many kids use components for their video games

so what do you use? i've got composite for my place, component for my girlfriend's

maybe they think three as in three colors: red, white, yellow

Yeah, it's probably confusion on the voters' parts.

I use composite for consoles, VGA for my PC.

I use s-video now. I'm gonna move over to component for video and optical for audio. Video goes into mythTV computer, then either to LCD monitor or my TV (27" sony trinitron, nothing special). Audio goes to Audigy2 Platinum (in same computer), then out to some crappy logitech surround speakers.

i think its completely possible that 50% of respondents from a gaming message board poll use components

Most people I know don't own anything that takes components.

it says 3 RCA cables, so people are probally including the audio in that. That could be a common mistake with kids...

Is it possible? Yes.

But it's more likely that ^ is correct. People see "3 cables" and think their composite connection is actually component.

I use S-Video because I'm too cheap to buy component cable for my PS2.

components on the xbox, in case i get a HDTV, then i'm ready, plus i got hooked up with the monster cable components for cheap

s-video for the ps2

.....and just to throw it in there optical cables to the receiver to come out of the 6 speaker surround...ooh so nice

Component for my Xbox at home, composite when its here at State.

Bought to get an svideo cable for my SNES.

Component for the X-Box and DVD player.
S-Video for the computer and the DVD player (if the Box is on component)
Composite for PS2, GC, and the rest of the systems.

I been using component on the XBOX since day one

I've tried S-Video but I can definately tell the difference, it's not as sharp
