"Nissan is set to unveil a near final production model called the GT-R PROTO in one week's time at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show. One week ago Nissan released some teaser design sketches of the Nissan GT-R PROTO Concept. Stunning!"

Quote :
"Seen here testing at the Nurburgring test track in Germany is a Skyline GT-R test mule wearing a heavily modified body of an Infiniti G35 Coupe. Taking a closer look at these photos you'll notice the slightly more acute roofline, hood air-scoops, widened body with flared fenders, rolled out rear quarter panels and rocket launcher like dual exhaust pipes ( ) which is rumored to give way to 480hp from a 3.2 liter twin turbo V6 engine. Sources say that the purpose of this particular testing session was to evaluate the GT-R's suspension which is being tuned by Lotus at their development center in England. This GT-R will be exported globally and that includes US (under Infiniti brand) and Australia. Look for a price tag around $80,000 USD."

I like the previous Skyline body better.

But I can't argue with 480 hp

Nice looking car, but I am still a fan of the R32-GTR "godzilla." It was the first skyline with the ATTESA system, and IMO represents the pinnacle of performance for this car model.

Looks nice, but doesnt look like a skyline. Also I would rather it have an inline personally. Anyone know if it's twin turbo or single turbo?

3.2 liter? They're not going with their across-the-board 3.5L v6.

they probably went with thicker cylinder walls and a smaller bore to please the boost-happy bunch. But thats just speculation. Personally i think it looks like shit. It still just looks like a fucking infinity or 350. The older skylines looked MEAN and brutish.

It's the front end that doesnt look skylineish...the headlights are too verticle. If they had them more horizontal so they would wrap around onto the front fenderbulges some more they would look more like the R31 - 34.

also the roofline and pillars don't look skylinish GTR to me.

i like the concept, but the R34 GT-R was pretty nice in terms of looks.

I hope it still has the info screen on the dash that lets you adjust settings in real time.

I wonder what it would be called in the US... Infiniti R32? If it has a 3.5 litre, then Infiniti R35?

Anyway, do you guys remember the GT-R Concept from the 2001 Tokyo Show? As you can see in the pics above, the current design sketches bear striking resemblance to the concept from 4 years ago. Let's wait for a couple of days till it is released, but if it looks similar to the 2001 concept, it looks like ass.

^^That concept actually looks better than the one in the begining of this thread. As long as the performance is up to par, I would have to say that I would be impressed to see this concept on the road for under 100k. It would look better if the black front valence was painted silver to match the rest of car, and a huge fucking intercooler was peeking out of the bumper. Atleast it isnt as ugly as the new vipers .

I find that the most hideous elements of concept cars tend to be removed before production

Anyone else think the side window and roof line look like they are borrowed from the new Mustang?

How much this thing gonna weigh?

I dont think anything was stolen from the mustang

Nissan's had that side window styling for a long while (maybe borrowed from some other manufacturer too)

crappy photoshop to make it look better:

the fender flares look like the new mustang, the hood likes the new eclipse (bubblyness), the roof looks like it has a broken back, the back looks ok IMO. The front looks like a new audi...so I fixed that in my photochop.

Looks like the concept that came out way before the new 'stang and the new eclipse and audi's styling.

Doesnt have much in the looks dept. It better perform like a motherfucker.

^^^^^Congratulations, you've created a Cadillac XLR.

I can't decide if I like it or not yet. Looks great from some angles, fussy from others.

And I can't help thinking of a Chevy Cobalt SS when I see the back.
