the calendar on the LAWN only contains JL events generally, but in the "get live" section, people post lots of events.

for local artists its usually word of mouth and flyers plus posts on the lawn like others mentioned before. i try to post shows on here as well

for national acts check venue websites, artist websites, and pollstar.com

Every Sunday night at The Brewery is Sub Sunday's "Got Skillz?". It's an open mic with featured artists, freestyle MC battles and more.

The site everyone is talking about is http://www.thejustusleague.com . They have good info there.

I usually checkout http://www.pollstar.com to find out what shows are coming up in the future. It'll list all the shows for a given venue, area, or artist.

Also, you can check the schedule of your favorite venues every once in a while, and they'll add shows. I just found out that Blackalicious will be at The Cat's Cradle on November 15th. That date was added fairly recently.
